After the funeral, I walked back to our den. A sat in there, motionless, positive that I would never be able to accept the terms that Lexi is really gone. I'm never going to see her smile, hear her laugh. These thoughts continued for three straight hours. I was convinced that I'd wake up and everything would be ok.
