i dont think so. faith and Angelus murdered alot of people yes, but Angelus did it for fun and pleasure, faith also did that but not in the same way. its hard to explain...

Faith and Angel have more in common. Angelus trully loved himself and what he did. Angel was the one that was all tortured by it.

I misread the question as being about Angel and Faith rather than about Angelus and Faith. I think that Angel and Faith have more in common than she and Angelus do, because Angel understands how lost she feels after killing people, understands the guilt and remorse but also understands the simplicity of falling into conscienceless evil. On the other hand, Angelus and Faith have both killed, but Angelus enjoys killing people and feels no remorse due to not having a soul, whereas Faith does feel remorse, though she buries this and doesn't deal with it for a long time. And Angelus would not be able to understand any of this since he has no soul, so they have less in common than Angel, who has experienced and understands both sides good and evil.

They have more in common then the murdering thing that's why I didn't vote.

I think Faith and Angelus do have elements of their characters' in common, but it isn't 100% 'because they murdered a lot [of] people'. Though it may have started because Faith took the deputy Mayor's life, she always had an element of rebellion about her (which Angelus definitely also does). Although her character does evolve over the two stories, she will always have that. It's what makes her so appealing. The major difference is that while Angelus is decidedly evil, out and out, through and through, Faith isn't. She has a soul, he doesn't. It's a pretty important distinction between the two. But it can't be ignored that she took as much pleasure as Angelus in causing pain, and she played games with some of her victims like he did (poisoning Angel, torturing Wesley). It took a coma and a damn long time before she showed real remorse for any of it. She proved herself to be as much as a monster as him when she cold-bloodedly killed that old man (I think he was an archeology professor), just the way she asked him so calmly to turn and face the wall, and the smile on her face when he said he'd scream and she replied "Who wouldn't?", it was enough to see that the darkness in her was more, had grown to more, than just a tough girl act.

Especially when she was in her 'bad girl, rogue slayer' moment, Faith and Angelus shared the same love for passion. They both did everything out of self-motivation, and for their own gain. Whether it was fulfilling basic, primal urges - sex, food - or something deeper like Faith's want of a daddy figure in the Mayor (Angelus also had some daddy issues, seeing as he killed his- funny that). She will always have that element of darkness to her that Angelus had, never to the same extent, but she has the capacity for real, true cruelty if she were to snap again.

Like everyone else has said, all of this probably makes her similar to Angel, but without Angelus, there would be no Angel. So without 'bad' Faith, there would be no 'good' Faith. You can't discount one side, or a certain facet of a person's past or personality, without distorting the whole.
