Also, develop the readers' attachment to the characters at the beginning of the book so that they feel еще scared when something bad happens to them. For a tone that leads into detail about their society, make the main character sort of rebellious или questioning about the establishment. Then have one truly evil spirit that the main character goes against the spirit to destroy (mabye part of it goes on about how to kill или eliminate a spirit) him/her. Include, if this applies, real people that are in touch with the spirits, или one character that can communicate with them.
