YG Entertainment\'s new girl group Black Pink reveal meaning of their group name

YG Entertainment\'s long, long, long-awaited girl group has finally been unveiled, and now we know that the group\'s 4 beautiful members - Jennie Kim, Lisa, Rosé, and Jisoo - will be making their debut soon as Black Pink! 

On June 28, a rep of YG provided more details regarding the rookie group, including the meaning behind the unique group name. The rep stated, "The meaning of Black Pink aims to contradict the common perception of the color pink. Pink is commonly used to portray prettiness, but Black Pink actually means to say that \'Pretty isn\'t everything\'. It also symbolizes that they are a team that encompasses not only beauty, but also great talent."

The meaning is cool, but the name still sounds weird when you say it. Also, all of the members are really pretty and the meaning is "being pretty isn\'t everything"? Then why don\'t you have an ugly member if being pretty isn\'t everything? I\'m just saying this name would have fit an "ugly" group better.

I\'m liking everything so far but I hope this hype is worth it. I hope their debut doesn\'t fail our expectations.
