Is it true? Do our eyes deceive us? или did we just score three days of Ed and Leighton filming pics? Near and in Chuck’s limo? Oh, and that’s not all. Unless we dreamed it, weren’t there also reports of the super awesome NJBC filming…together? Jack бас, бас-гитара is once again gracing us with his presence? Okay, enough questions. Now we demand answers. (In case you’ve been living under a rock, Ты can see the CB filming pics link.)

From the looks of the pics and the set reports, it seems as if our beloved duo may be scheming together (be still, our classic, CANON Gossip Girl loving hearts). It would also appear that Ed and Leighton defy all rules of sexual tension and chemistry in that even after FIVE YEARS of filming together, they are still magic together, just in the way they look at each other. Just in the way they ARE together. They are explosive. Even better, according to people who were on set, the entire cast (with minimal Penn) filmed at the house/brothel/lingerie party/Bass Industries event taking place during those three days. There were even…wait for it…reports of Leighton, Blake, Ed and Chace being on set AT THE SAME TIME. We know, right?!!

Is that a HBIC we see?
Is that a HBIC we see?

Could it be that our beloved Blair is back? It certainly seems like the Blair we know and love– down to the hair, the coat, the shoes, the glorious bitchface. We have DARED to dream. And a limo to boot. If there is one threesome we ship, it’s Chuck, Blair and Chuck’s limo. We can totally get behind that ménage a trois.

As mind-fucking as Season Five has been, we have seen a LOT of parallels with Season Two, which is unparalleled in awesomeness. Based on these pics and set reports, it seems that what will occur later in the season will be yet another nod to the glory of Season Two. For starters, we have Blair scheming with Chuck. Meanwhile her temporary, “safe” rebound becomes (understandably) territorial, insecure and jealous. Not to knock Natey because he is, like, 98394734867387382303540930 times better than DHumps could ever be for Blair as a rebound (although they are both White Knights in their own ways). Anyway, judging from the reports of Dan hailing a cab and following Chuck and Blair to wherever they are going, in the words of Chuck бас, бас-гитара from 2.22, “Well, this feels familiar.”

In 2.22, Chuck and Blair team up to find out what Serena’s boyfriend, Gabriel is hiding. We loved this episode because it solidified three things about Blair, all of which are bound to be making a comeback by the end of Season Five: 1. She would do anything for Serena and would defend her to the death, 2. She cannot resist a chance to scheme against someone she deems shady (and she has a knack for spotting con artists), and 3. She chose to spend the night in a limo with Chuck rather than in her new apartment with Nate.

One of the best parts about the filming pics is the fact that we have CB in matching clothing which is always a sign of positive, sexy, wistful, scheme-y, and/or romantic energy between them. A visual of their emotional connection, if Ты will.

If Ты recall, beautiful (and yes, epic) Chuck and Blair scenes occurred with them wearing matching outfits. Remember this:

And this:

And of course, there’s this:

And now we spec.

Going back to parallels between Season Two and Season Five, we see Dan playing a еще extreme (and infinitely less attractive) version of Nate. In both scenarios, Blair turned to them after losing (as she perceived to be) everything. Blair сказал(-а) herself that she’d “lose everything before [she lost] Chuck all over again.” Foreshadowing? At this point, Blair has pretty much Остаться в живых everything: her baby, her Prince/fairytale, her BFF, her money, and now Chuck. Not to mention that she never did become that powerful woman she so needed to be in Season Four. But, it’s okay, because she still has Dan. #winning

Of course, Blair soon realized that Chuck was the one she loved and broke things off with Nate, after battling several arguments regarding her time spent with Chuck. As Nate wisely said, “With Ты two, it’s always a big deal.” Blair telling Chuck she wasn’t in Любовь with him “at least not now. Not the way [he] deserve[s]” seems to closely parallel Chuck telling Blair “it’s just a game” in 2.23 because he thought he couldn’t make her happy. Well, now he knows he can make Blair happiest, and unlike Dan (or Nate) he would never expect her to change for him. Blair and Chuck spending lots of time together has always only ended one way. Especially when Dan appears to be having trust issues already, we highly doubt Blair will be impressed by his stalking ways. Blair has always been and always will be a schemer, and Chuck is her best teammate in many ways. Every way, in fact.

There are not enough squees in the world.
There are not enough squees in the world.

We think Blair is fearful of what it means to be with Chuck again and be susceptible to losing him and that’s why she’s currently keeping him at arm’s length. As Blair сказал(-а) in 2.25, “I’m afraid to talk to Chuck because he might hurt me again.” Blair is currently at her weakest and is running away from the pain of her miscarriage and almost losing Chuck permanently. Blair’s new personality cannot be attributed to character growth because she seems to be going in the wrong direction. She’s Актёрское искусство еще selfish and entitled, while hiding from her mistakes and relying on Dan (or his fanfiction) to constantly boost her ego. There is a poignant scene in 2.21 where Nate and Chuck talk about Blair, as Nate whines about Blair’s scheming ways. After Chuck awesomely tells Nate that “it’s stupid to want her to be anything than she is” he goes on to say “But Blair is changing. She could have had me, but she chose you.” 5.17, anyone? Chuck tells Lily “Blair is changing” after she chooses Dan. Which, in both scenarios, was a еще polite way to say “Blair’s Актёрское искусство batshit crazy.”

We’re hoping that Dan and Blair can mutually end their relationship (like Blair and Nate did in Season Two), both realizing that they’re just not a good fit and still have feelings for their exes. We’ve also noticed that Blair seems most aware of the depth of her feelings for Chuck when she’s forced to commit to something and feels in her gut that she can’t. In Season Two, Blair couldn’t Переместить in with Nate because of Chuck and in Season Five, she couldn’t tell Louis that she’d never leave him because she knew it wasn’t true. The downfall of DB is imminent and when Blair is backed into a commitment corner with Dan, she will most likely have an epiphany regarding Chuck. We hope this line from Season Two will make a reappearance: “Thank Ты for breaking the cycle of crazy.” – Serena фургон, ван der Woodsen.

The еще we think about it, the еще Season Five is coming across as a blatant ripoff of Season Two. In Season Two, Lily kicks CeCe out of her penthouse, which totally bit her in the жопа, попка when Ivy (through CeCe’s will) kicks Lily out in 5.17. Lily’s flashbacks of her time in LA with Carol (2.24) could parallel Serena and Lola’s upcoming half-sister reveal and whatever adventures come along with that. Maybe this is where the Blair and Chuck team up to come to Serena’s aid? Other parallels include someone hacking Gossip Girl (Jonathan in S2, Georgina in S5), Nate being preoccupied with a cougar who has family secrets, Nate later being preoccupied with an outsider who wants nothing to do with the UES, and Chuck being alone, pining for Blair, and thinking he’s Остаться в живых her to someone else. Not to mention the poorly executed thievery of “three words, eight letters” and “say it again.” But, it ain’t no thang. If 5.01 is supposed to mimic Chuck and Blair in 2.01, then why is 2.25 being done for Dan and Blair in 5.17? Have they already reached the peak of their relationship? And we thought bad sex when Ты just started dating was ominous… One notable difference is that Gossip Girl said, “no one wants to hear them” regarding Dan’s “three words, eight letters” to Blair, as compared to Chuck and Blair outright asking each other for them throughout Season Two.

The Chuck/Blair filming pics from last week reminded us SO MUCH of the last couple episodes of Season Two. The scheming, the limo, the jealous boyfriend — with all the other parallels aforementioned — we are certain that Season Five is heading towards a Chuck and Blair reunion much like in the final moments of Season Two. Since Blair and Chuck have switched roles as the torch-bearer of their relationship, we think Blair will be the one to find Chuck and profess those three words, eight letters (and HOPEFULLY apologize). Since it is his turn to not give up, we doubt he will turn her away. Luckily, it seems that the final season of Gossip Girl will only be 13 episodes, so hopefully, the writers won’t feel inclined to fuck things up for them again. If one thing has been foreshadowed over and over again since Season One, it’s that marriage is in Chuck and Blair’s future. With only a few episodes remaining, we think it’s high time they took Chuck and Blair to the Далее level.

So, the Вопрос is: why is this season a carbon copy of Season Two? Is it because Dan was Письмо Inside during that time and we’re now dealing with some meta bullshit? или is it because Chuck’s coma dream is very focused on that time in his life? или (and this is probably most likely) did the GG writers seriously just run out of new storyline ideas and decide to redo their best one?

One final question: IS IT MAY YET???

01. GAMES

I mean, obviously. Chuck/Blair has been a near-constant battle. Games were part of the foundation of their relationship ("You and I bonded over a mutual Любовь of scheming"), games were part of their undoing. Season 2 is inundated with dialogue about games and stakes, winning and losing. Games + Chuck and Blair's king and Queen pretensions = every chess and war cliche reference in the history of ever.

Also obviously, games aren't the point. S2's sabotage, schemes, wagers, and ~seductions are just a way for Chuck and Blair to channel their feelings for each other into a safer type of...
