This was a book Сообщить that I wrote for my English class. If you're thinking of Чтение the Hunger Games, I suggest that Ты look at this...

The Hunger Games is a very Популярное book among teens my age. It’s basically about a sixteen-year-old girl named Katniss whose sister (named Prim) was chosen to compete in the Hunger Games, which was an annual tournament where two children from each District (there are 12-ish) are forced to fight to the death on live television. Katniss apparently really loved her sister или something, because she volunteers to go in Prim’s stead.
I first picked up this book because everyone else was Чтение it. The plot had caught my interest, and I saw it EVERYWHERE in school, so I decided to read it. The first thing that I thought when I finished the book was, “Why on Earth was this thing popular?” I mean, the plot was definitely good, but the Письмо was only so-so. However, I actually did kind of like this book. I can count on one hand all of the Книги that have managed to make me cry, and this is one of them.
I did have a minor problem with the character development though. The point of Katniss going into the Hunger Games in the first place was to save her sister Prim. The only problem is that Prim has, like, three lines before the main character is sacrificing her life for her. Yeah, that’s great and all, but I like to actually get to know the character before I start feeling all mushy about her life being in danger.
What also bugged me was the Автор makes a big point of the fact that Katniss has no special talents besides archery. When it comes to public speeches, acting, intelligence, etc. Katniss just stands back and lets the BOYS do everything and make all of the decisions for her. Oh, apparently Stephanie Meyer recommends it. (No surprise there.)
Anyways, I DID like this book, even though it had (a lot of) problems. I would recommend this book to everyone who likes excitement and doesn’t mind (many) plot holes. Also, if Ты have a weak stomach, don’t read this. (Wow, I’m doing a terrible job of selling this thing, aren’t I?)
But other than THAT, it’s a good book.
My rating? 6/10

 The Book, I loved it.
The Book, I loved it.
Starcrossed.

Helen Hamilton has always tried to hide how different she is—no easy feat on an island as small as Nantucket, and only getting harder as she finds herself haunted by hallucinations and vivid nightmares.

It's not until she crosses paths with Lucas Delos at school that Helen's true heritage is finally revealed. Yet even as Lucas helps her awaken to her startling powers, they can never be together—not unless they can break free from the tragic destiny the Three Fates have in store.

In Israel, the lives of three women interweave with the story of their country. Ratiba, an Israeli journalist, turns her back on her heritage to marry an Israeli Arab. Her sister Orit, an actor, lives alone and longs for her Остаться в живых sister. Elisheva is a nurse who dedicates her life to the wounded and the dying. As their lives unfold, the three women find themselves facing choices they would never have envisioned.

This is a story of secrets and alienation, yet also of hope and heroism. It is about Arabs who save Jews from disaster and Jews who heal Arabs. It is the story of everyday people torn and desperately searching for the right path.

Here, the ancient pulsates in present time and the biblical holds prominence with the secular. Beneath this modern-day drama unfolds the story of a land and its people, revealing the historical trajectory of two peoples, victims and perpetrators of a biblical curse.
