I honestly don't think she would have gotten so close to Lucas if Brooke had been around, Peyton would have had Brooke to confide in about Ellie and they both would have had her to hang with. I will always have a million "what if's" concerning Brucas.

i totally think mark would have still made peyton the bitch that she is! the only times i have ever noticed peyton ever wanting lucas is when he's with someone else, which gives her a challenge and a chance to hurt people in the process...aka brooke (best friend), and lindsay!! and the only reason i think lucas ever went to peyton in the end is cause people kept pushin him towards her, and that is not true love if you ask me!!

Duh. Brooke and Lucas would be having sex all the time so Peyton has to go see Jake or in desperate times, she'd just "peyton" herself. LMFAO.

Anyway, I just don't get how or when Peyton fell for Lucas for the second time. As far as I know, the school shooting happened and she kissed Luke and then she went to see Jake and I can tell, I haven't seen her happier. It's Jake. She went to freakin Savannah to see Jake. To be with Jake. Then she mumbles Lucas' name in her sleep, WTF? You can say I didn't see it coming.

well brooke being brooke would of helped peyton with the whole jake left, i have a mum

and lucas, well it would of be like who they were in s2 they just get closer...he would of proved to her he changed and he wants her, than season 3 would of been differnt.

i always wanted lucas to go to the airport and chase after her, i mean she had to leave but he could of told her something like "you can leave but i'll still he here...and i'll wait for you cuase it's you!" AWWWW i can dream can't i!

i think what everyone has said, makes total sense. but say if brooke did stay for the summer...do you think there would have still been the 82 letters? or the destiny shot? i don't think i would give up those wonderfull scenes, that prove they belong together, so brooke could have stayed for the summer!! but i do think lucas goin to the airport would have been extra great!! and would have haley/brooke still have become great friends, if brooke stayed? i wouldn't want to give up their friendship either!

and i honestly think peyton still would have fallen for lucas inless jake was there! so it would of been a waste, for brooke to stay, in my opinion at least!!

Well realistically speaking, no. But for Mark, it wouldn't have mattered.

i dnt think it really had anything to do with how the blp triangle went down. no matter what lp are meant to be close, i dont begrudge them that, i like them as FRIENDS. but i dont connect that summer alone together to peytons 'feelings' or lp getting together seasons later.
