Howdy??

I am planning to move to downtown San Jose starting March. Could you recommend any good areas to look for apartments in?

By good, I mean close to bars, eating joints, clubs..close to most of the action and relatively safe..

Also, what would be a good way to find a suitable room mate (I am already trying craigslist..)
