My feeding frenzy was interrupted by Rosalie. She flew into me, breaking my grip, and moving so quickly I didn’t have a chance to react, she dragged me out of the room. What irony. The blonde сука who couldn’t control herself with Bella was the one saving Callie from her friend. Once out of the room, my head started to clear. I stopped trying to shred Rose and finally the reality of what I had just done sank in. “Ohmygod.” I felt like a monster. I turned to Rose. “Did I kill her?” I could barely get the words out. Rose shook her head. “Listen.” She tilted her head in the direction of the room. To my relief, the frantic pounding of a changing сердце echoed in my ears. “I… I couldn’t stop. I couldn’t think. All there was in the world was her blood.” “I know. It’s alright, she’s gonna be fine.” She reassured me. I nodded and excused myself to go change out of my blood splattered clothes. The blood red eyes of a monster greeted me in my reflection. “They’ll go away, they’ll go away.” I kept reminding myself.
Callie’s POV
Fire. I was burning from the inside out. I couldn’t move, couldn’t scream. I had no idea what was going on. All I knew was the огонь was too much to медведь and I couldn’t do a thing about it. I was trapped in misery for what felt like days.
Carlisle’s POV
It had been two days since the baby was born. Somehow, although it was not as developed as Renesmee had been, the baby was alive and somewhat functioning. Rosalie had taken over its care until Callie was finished the change and could decide what she wanted to do. Time passed slowly as we waited for Callie to wake up.
Callie’s POV
Change. The pain was changing. Fading in my fingers and toes, receding. Getting worse in my heart. Much worse. It kept changing, until my сердце was the only thing that was burning. It was too much to bear, and suddenly without reason it all stopped. No pain. I kept still for a minute, adjusting. Much to my surprise, I could open my eyes. Perhaps it was the fact that I had been unable to see anything for so long but it was like seeing the world with new eyes. Everything was so vivid, had so much clarity and detail. Almost all of the Cullens were standing in the room. Carlisle stepped forward. “Callie? Do Ты know what has happened?” He asked. I shook my head. He took a deep breath and exchanged glances with Jasper. Jasper stepped a bit closer. I frowned. “What’s going on?” I demanded. “You were going to die. There was no other option. I changed Ты into a vampire.” He fell quiet, waiting for my reaction. Vampire. Monster. Not human. I had a million words that I wanted to say, but I couldn’t seem to put it together. “Callie?” Alice’s voice interrupted my train of thought. “I’m not sure what Ты want me to say. Thanks, I guess, for not letting me die, but I’m not thrilled that I’m a vampire.” Everyone seemed to relax a bit. “The… thing. Ты destroyed it, right?” I asked. No one сказал(-а) anything. “I told Alice I wanted it DESTROYED. I do not want to be responsible for a monster.” The last word came out a hiss. What the fuckkk, I thought to myself. “The baby was way farther developed than we thought. It was a living person. I couldn’t kill it. Rosalie сказал(-а) she will look after it, if that is what Ты want.” Carlisle answered. “I wanted it dead, and I wanted to be human. I guess that’s not gonna happen, so whatever. Make sure that I don’t have to see it. EVER. And my throat is burning.” “I can take Ты to hunt if Ты want.” Alice offered. I had never heard her sound so… sad? I shrugged. “C’mon, we’ll drive to the reserve a few miles out of town.”
Being a vampire was definitely a major adjustment. The senses, the speed, the strength. Mega cool. The constant thirst though, not so cool. It took mere секунды to get to the car, and the car door seemed to open itself for what little effort it took. I sat in the passenger seat. A few секунды later, a smiling Alice caught up to me. “Enjoying the speed?” She asked. I grinned. “Just a bit.” I shot back. It didn’t take long to reach the reserve. We parked in the near empty parking lot. “Shit.” She muttered as we both saw the few stray cars and could hear the voices of people in the distance. “I didn’t think anyone would be here. It’s a miserable Tuesday afternoon. Who comes hiking on a Tuesday afternoon in the rain anyways?” She rolled her eyes. Reaching for her purse, she pulled out a pair of contacts and some drool-worthy Chanel shades. “These will hide your red eyes.” She handed them to me. Once my killer eyes were sufficiently covered up, she turned to me with a serious look on her face. “I’m going to try to find us a remote pathway and get us up into the thick forest of the reserve, where all of the game is. But as soon as we step outside, you’re going to be able to hear their heartbeats. Ты will be able to smell them, and there is nothing in the world that Ты are going to want more, but you’ve got to resist the temptation, ok? We aren’t here to kill people, understand?” I nodded. “Good, stay close to me and focus on something other then the humans.” With that, she stepped into the misty, foggy air. I followed her. We strolled, human pace, to a path that looked and smelled like it hadn’t been travelled in weeks. Once we had climbed several feet, she picked up the pace, certain that no one would see us. I followed her, and within секунды I passed her without effort. “Callie.” She hissed, as I started to disappear from her line of sight. “Spoilsport.” I muttered and stopped, waiting for her to catch up. We had no trouble finding a pair of cougars. “These will do.” She whispered in a tone almost inaudible to my inhuman senses. “No cubs, and there is an overpopulation problem that is threatening the other species. I nodded. Moving silently, she attacked and killed the first one without it even suspecting her presence. I did the same. I paused. “Go ahead and bite it. I know it sounds super weird, but it will be instinctual.” That was all I needed to hear. I tore into its flesh, gulping back the sweet red magic that poured out of the wound. It was drained before I knew it. Alice, who had already finished hers, was standing patiently. I shoved the body away, frustrated that I was still thirsty. “It still burns.” I whispered, slammed by a Стена of an overwhelming feeling of loss of sense of self. I was a monster, and there was always going to be a reminder. “I know, it sucks. But it does get better in a few months, and we’re not done here yet.” She replied, and strode off to find our Далее prey. Within a few hours, I had drunk enough that the burn was now dull. “Shall we head back?” I nodded. We started back to the car, but something caught Alice’s attention and she stopped abruptly. “Wha-“ I started to ask but then it hit me. The smell that could only belong to a human. Blood so sweet and tempting I couldn’t think straight. Ignoring Alice’s efforts to stop me, I followed the scent. I froze behind a куст, буш as the human came into sight. He was a young man, not much older than me. I stepped out from around the куст, буш and pushed him into the ground. His sounds of protest cut off as I sank my teeth into his throat. The taste was incomparable to anything else. It didn’t take long for him to be drained. I sat back, puzzled. I just took a life, and yet I felt nothing but satisfied. No remorse, no guilt. Alice appeared beside me. “SHIT.” She blurted as she took in his non living state and my lack of emotion. “No, no, no.” She groaned. She pulled out a lighter from her pocket, and without a word she lit the corpse. It was consumed in flames, and in mere секунды it was a pile of ash. She turned to me. “Callie. I told Ты that Ты must control yourself. I took Ты here because I had faith that Ты would have the good sense to listen to me.” I turned to her. “So? He tasted fantastic, and now he’s dead. Oops, oh well. Let’s head back.” My voice was completely void of emotion. She groaned quietly, and pulled out her phone, presumably to give everyone the heads up on what just happened. The drive Главная was silent.
We pulled into the driveway of their house in the woods. Tucked away, it was a small haven where they could truly indulge in their vampiric nature without fearing that they would be caught. It was as if someone had flipped a switch inside of me. For the few hours before tasting the human, I felt different, but still somewhat myself. Now, nothing. All I could focus on was the taste, and I didn’t have a care in the world about how my actions affected others. This must be what newborns are like. It was in me, I just needed that trigger. I smiled to myself. I knew the Cullens would be much еще wary around me. On overwhelming rush of something took over me. Power? Yes, I held power over them now.
The four guys were waiting on the porch. I sauntered up to them. “That man was delish.” Was all I said. Jasper growled and with lightning speed, appeared behind me and crossed his arms over my chest, effectively restraining me. I snarled and thrashed against his hold, but it was useless. Within seconds, an unexplained calm washed over me. Damn Jasper and his gift. My thrashing slowed, and my snarls quieted. “Finally.” The southern mumbled. “Emmett, come with me to the guest house? We can watch over Callie there while those three talk.” He nodded, and placed a hand on my shoulder. I didn’t even bother trying to shrug him off. Jazz and Emmett headed off to the guest house with me begrudgingly in tow.
Alice’s POV
“What happened out there? How did Ты not hear the human before it was too late?” Carlisle asked gently. “I… I had a vision, and it was so startling that it completely distracted me.” Edward gasped as he saw the vision replaying in my head. “What was it of?” Carlisle pressed. “The Volturi. Callie is going to leave us and Присоединиться them.” I said. The remainder of the family in the house appeared in the living room when they heard that. “What?!” Rosalie gasped. I nodded gravely. “We have to stop her!” She insisted. Carlisle shook his head. “We have no right to stop her from choosing as she wants to.” We all fell silent, knowing he was right. “What happens next?” Edward spoke the words we were all wondering. “We wait. And we work with her to see if we can get some sense back into her. That human blood triggered the vicious newborn reaction that we didn’t see in Bella. It is going to take a lot for her to find her humanity again, if at all.” I hung my head. “I’m so sorry, this is my fault. I should have been еще focused on her…” My voice came out a barely audible whisper. Bella, who had been standing by the window now came and wrapped her arms around me. Listen to me- any of us would have done the same thing if we were in your position. This is not your fault, Ты hear?” She told me. I nodded. She smiled, and went to stand with Edward. “This is going to mean everyone. We are all going to have to help her and support her if we are going to be successful.” Carlisle continued. We all nodded. “Good. Edward, Jasper, Emmett and myself will be working with her for the most part, at least until she isn’t as much of a threat. I saw Bella cast a worried glance at her husband. “I’ll be fine.” He murmured in reassurance. Carlisle nodded. “Edward is right. Ты have no reason to fear for your lover’s safety, especially not with Jasper’s experience and natural talent.” We all relaxed a bit. With that, Carlisle excused himself to the guesthouse to begin working with Callie. Edward followed him soon after.
Callie’s POV
The guesthouse was not as large as the main, but it was still decorated in the same understated elegance. I could feel the save of calm that had settled over me start to lift- Jasper was testing to see how I would handle myself- and as soon as I could I snapped at him. He sighed and placed his hand on my shoulder as he took us over to the couch. I heard Edward and Carlisle approaching. секунды later, the face of my lover appeared in the doorway. I looked away. He did nothing for me, not when there were other things in this world that held much еще value- blood. He wore an expression that was one of worry and sadness. Edward filed in behind him, his face betraying nothing. “Callie.” Carlisle’s voice interrupted my thoughts. I looked up at him. “What happened today was a setback, but it doesn’t mean all hope is lost. You’re going to have to work a bit harder for it now, but Ты can regain your self control.” I rolled my eyes. “I don’t want to pretend, Carlisle. Why would I live the way Ты do when I can have blood and power?” I shrugged Jasper off. “I am leaving. It will only take me a few минуты to gather my things. Don’t expect to hear from me again. As for the… creature, destroy it. And if Ты cannot do that then tell Rosalie to consider it hers. I want no part in any of this.” With that, I ran for the main house. I flitted up the three flights of stairs and stopped in the room that was meant to be mine. Alice was sitting on the bed. “Don’t do it.” She warned. I ignored her and pulled the (droolworthy) LV suitcase out of the closet and filled it with clothes. “It’s not worth it, truly. They are awful. Ты can go off on your own, satisfy your desire to be a monster, but please. The Volturi are something Ты do not want to get involved in.” Her tone took on a pleading edge. “Please, Callie.” She whispered. “Stay. For me, for Carlisle. What Ты have here is worth еще than the blood of a thousand humans.” I could no longer keep a straight face. I burst out into laughter, a cold, empty, sarcastic sound that resembled nothing of the joyful sound my human laugh used to be. I zipped the bag closed and grabbed a stack of credit cards. They were all registered to my alias, each account had millions within it. I headed down the stairs, and she followed me. “Love can’t make the world all better, Alice. It’s a sick, twisted place out there, and there’s nothing that is going to change that. I am leaving here, and I am not going to return.” I paused. “What’s that old saying again? If Ты Любовь something, set it free; if it comes back it’s yours and if it doesn’t it never was. Let me go Alice.” A sarcastic tone edged into my voice. “Just wait and see if I come back.” I watched her face fall, and with that I left. I drove as far as my car would take me.
Travelling to Italy on foot took a bit longer, but eventually I reached my destination. Thankful for the cover of the darkness, I slipped from shadow to shadow until I was face to face with one of the guards. “You are?” He asked. “Callie. Callie Cullen- formerly, anyways. I am here to speak with Aro. I have a proposal that I believe he will very much enjoy. A small, blond girl stepped out. “Follow me.” Was all she said. We travelled through the twisted tunnels in silence. She stopped in front of an intricate wood door and pulled it open. She motioned for me to follow her in. “Master, a girl going by the name of Callie Cullen has requested to speak to you.” She сказал(-а) in an apathetic tone. Aro looked up at me. He studied my features for a moment, before smiling. “Come in, dear one. What is it that brings Ты here?” He asked me. His voice gave me an uneasy feeling, which I promptly squished. “I-“ I started to speak but he held up his hand. “No need, young one.” He сказал(-а) as he placed it on my shoulder. I remember Чтение about his talent in the Cullen’s library. He stood still for half a minute. “Hmmm.” He finally stepped away. “I accept your request to Присоединиться our little family.” Hisses of shock filled the air. “Hush.” The room fell silent. “She is gifted-“ He started. “What?! I am? How could I not know this!” I interrupted him. “Young one, Ты are merely unaware of your talents as Ты have had no need for them, yet. I sensed something; Ты have the ability to simply destroy one’s gift. Not completely, but they will be void of it until Ты allow them to have it back. Simply think of the person and their gift. It is all Ты need to do. Lets test it, shall we Jane?” She stepped вперед with a smile. “Yes, Master.” She glanced at me, and at once it felt like my entire body was consumed in flames. I doubled over. “Enough.” Was Aro’s command, and the burning stopped. I glanced around. No smoke, nothing. “My gift is all in your head. It doesn’t actually harm you, it gives Ты the illusion of pain.” She explained. I nodded. “Now think of Jane, and her gift.” Aro instructed. I nodded. “Good. Now think of the gift leaving her, so she is nothing еще than an ordinary vampire.” He nodded at Jane, who focused on me. No pain. She narrowed her eyes. Still nothing. “How splendid!” Aro exclaimed. “Give her back her talent my dear.” I did so. “Now, before we start the grande tour, and training Ты to fight, I need Ты to put your gift to use for awhile this time. Think of the future seeing Cullen.” I kept my face neutral, but knowing the panic and distress it would cause Alice almost gave way. “Strip her of her gift.” He instructed. With almost no hesitation, I did so. “Done.” I said. His musical laughter filled the room. “Oh, how handy, how handy indeed! With her not able to see our plans, we can pay them a little visit and check in on that… child that was yours.” Come now, let us tour the building and wait for breakfast to arrive.
My feeding frenzy was interrupted by Rosalie. She flew into me, breaking my grip, and moving so quickly I didn’t have a chance to react, she dragged me out of the room. What irony.

"Emmeline! Celestia! Stay close to mommy!" my voice was loud and powerful, the young girls listening to my every word. We entered the warm house and stripped of our coates and mittens, the snow layering the hard-wood floor.
"Ahh..love, your home." Carlisle came out of his study and gave us all a big hug. I still remembered the день when I got him back.
The heart-beats of us three were different, the girls еще full.I was glad they had been full human, probably from the effect the antidote. But the baby I was carrying now, my sweet Benjamin, I was afraid he would be half, like me.
Carlisle kissed me and rubbed my swollen abdomen lovingly. No, everything would be okay.

Benjamin came into the world perfect however, and all the children loved him. But something was in his eyes, someone lived on in him. And I knew exactly who.
