Out of the 25 cookie recipes I have in my cook book my Избранное one would be my ginger cookie recipe. I Любовь to make these and sprinkle them with red или green colored sugar. Well here is the recipe, I hope Ты like it, and will post your Избранное cookie recipe here too.
Ginger Cookies
Ingredients
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup shortening
4 Tablespoons Molasses
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons soda
2 Tablespoons water
1 Teaspoon ginger
1 Teaspoon cinnamon
2 cups Flour
Directions
Thoroughly mix sugar, shorting and molasses. Mix in salt and egg. Dissolve soda in water. Sift together the dry ingredients. Mix; set aside for 20 minutes. Shape dough into small balls. Flatten balls and press with fork that has been dipped in cold water. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Yields 3 dozen cookies.
