you do know that they put in that one guy(her neighbor) so that she wouldn't talk to herself, and you can find out more on Wikipedia.

Yeah! There is no Wybie and also Coraline is like 6 or something because in the book they mentioned she played with dolls and also that she didn't know how to spell that good. She spelled sausegues like "saussajjes" she was just little. I wish people knew more about this. Also she didn't have a garden in the other world and she didn't kill the hand with wybie she killed the hand by herself.

NightFrog picked It's sort of different, but not entirely.:
It has quite a few differences, but the concept is the same. (Spoilers)

-Coraline seems much younger in the book.
-No Wybie.
-Her parents are kinder, and more patient.
-There was no car accident mentioned.
-The door was normal sized, not small.
-Coraline only goes to the Other World once (in the film it was three times), before realizing the Other Mother was up to no good.
-Coraline didn't buy the Other Mother's act.
-Coraline thought of the Other World as 'interesting', but not 'better'.
-The rats aren't pretending to be mice in the book.
-Mr. Bobinski is really Mr. Bobo.
-The dogs in the theater were able to speak.
-Coraline didn't need to sleep to get back home, she just walked.
-There was another apartment next to their own on their level.
-It never mentioned Coraline's parents' profession.
-Coraline never smashed the mirror her parents were hidden behind.
-There was no 'Coraline doll' or 'Parent doll'.
-When her parents are missing, she tried to occupy herself (assuming they would return) by typing on her dad's computer and getting her own food.
-Coraline called the police about her missing parents, but they thought she was just a little girl telling stories.
-There is no garden in the book.
-While on the hunt for the ghost children's souls, the Other Mother 'assisted' Coraline by giving her a key to the other appartment half way through, where she met the Other Father who was suppose to keep her there (this was how the Other Father was basicly defeated, not in the garden).
-There was no playing piano.
-The book is set in England, not America.
-The gloves Coraline wanted were green.
-Coraline wasn't water witching to find the well.
-Coraline didn't like the rain, but in the movie she did.
-Her hair isn't blue.
-There were rats under Coraline's bed on the first night.
-Mrs. Spink gave Coraline the stone at the beginning, not later.
-Coraline had no other friends mentioned.
-The Other Mother never turned into a spider, but she did lose her appearance.
-The moon didn't turn into a button.
-Instead of finding the first soul in the garden, Coraline found it in her room.
-The stone actually helped Coraline not be tricked by the Other Mother to begin with.
-Coraline figured out that her parents were in the Snow Globe awhile before she actually had to look for them.
-Her family never owned snow globes, which is why Coraline figured out that her parents were hidden in one (the Other Mother can only copy from the real world- so the snow globe stuck out).
-In the dream with the ghost children, they had a picnic, and then they told her that it wasn't over for her, but they never mentioned it was the key that the Other Mother wanted.
-Coraline had to sleep behind the mirror before the Other Mother let her out.
-The Other Mother swore on her right hand that she would play fair, and it was her right hand that fell off.
-It was daytime when Coraline entered the Other World.
-It was daytime in the Other World most of the time, while in the movie it was usually night.

...I'll stop now. But honestly, despite these, the story is still the same. It just lacks certain details and parts that the movie added on. The book actually moved pretty quickly, while the movie took more time.

Yeah, sort of. I didn't read the book, but i heard the audiobook version. Even though I never finished it, I did noticed the differences. From what I can remember, not really that different from the movie.
