Critical Analysis of Twilight Article: Jacob Black : A Rant

Okay, so I just wrote an Статья called "Bella Swan: A Rant", and it seems a lot people liked it, which mad me glad! But I've deicided to write an Статья about Jacob Black, one of the most loved, yet hated characters in the twilight saga

Now, what I don't get is why so many people (Especially Edward lovers) hate the guy so much. Okay, yes, he can be selfish, but he was so kind and sweet in New Moon to Bella. He helped her when no one else could, and started to make her smile and laugh again. I really loved him in New Moon(more than Edward, that's for sure.) And to say I was ticked off when Bella just threw him into the side the минута Edward comes back would be an understatment. If it was possible, it made me hate her character еще than I already did. Really felt sorry for Jacob in New Moon.

Now, I think Eclipse is when most people started to hate him. They keep saying he's a jerk, but here's are some words by kateliness2 on a pick from twilight:

" Jacob isn't a jerk! Goodness...no one sees that he was just trying to save Bella. He wasn't trying to get in the way of Bella and Edward just to be a prat; he literally thought that she was going to die at his hands.
He was also correct in knowing that Bella thought she didn't have any other option than Edward. He showed her that she didn't have to chose a life as a vampire. He was just trying to be a good friend.
I just get upset because I feel everyone is far too gaga over Edward to see this."

I was speechless when I read this, because it was EXACLY how I felt about everything! I mean...come on, he was just trying to Показать her that she didn't have to give up everything! And many hate him because he "forced" himself on Bella...that was actually realistic. He's not this perfect god-like Adonis creature Stephanie made Edward(who is far from perfect if Ты ask me). He was just a teenage boy who was soft of desperate!

Then in Breaking Dawn, I couldn't have been еще happy when the middle of the book was in his point of view! (One: Because he's my favorite! Two: It wasnt in Bella's POV.) While I hated Breaking Dawn, he actually made it еще bearable for me! And his chapter titles were funny.
Then...he imprints on Rennesme.
Really Stephanie? Really?
It's bad enough I had to read the birth scene(Oh My Gosh, I wanted to puke!) Then he imprints on the deamon spawn..why Stephanie? Why?
Okay, it kind of ruined his character a little bit...but its not like he can control it! Let's remeber, he hated her at first!
I actually thought he should of ended up with Leah and forget about Bella. Doesnt deserve him anyway in my opinon.
Anyway, thats it! I really hope Ты enjoyed this article. I might write another one about Edward Cullen, but I'm not sure...what do Ты think?

Sorry if I offended anyone. And please don't put Комментарии like "Jacob iz a jerk! He got in the way of Bella and Edward, who are meant to be together forever1!1! или "Your just stupid." Really, they will just make me laugh.

kateliness2 LOVE. LOVE. LOVE. x1000. I thought that this was going to be a Jake-hate article, but was so pleasantly surprised. He's definitely my favorite. Always has been :)

kateliness2 Oh, and you should totally Edward-rant if you want. I really enjoyed the Bella one too. The very worst part of Breaking Dawn for me was definitely Jake's transformation when he imprints. First of all, it weirds me out(not that he can help it). Second, it totally undermines his feelings for Bella. Third, he loses all of his personality after he imprints. He becomes bland and overprotective :(

Myf_1992 I would love to read Edward: a rant, I think everone would agree so I can't wait for you to write it.

November99 I would also love to see a rant on Edward, seeing how much I loved these first two.

katiecain I don't get the Jake hate either. I really don't. I started reading Twilight after quite a few of my friends and my sister has read it. They all talked about Edward and my sister said she disliked Jacob. I'd also seen a lot of the hate towards him on the internet, so I expected him to be some horrible character, but still kept my mind open. As I read on, into New Moon, then Eclipse, I still couldn't see what was wrong with him. And besides the imprinting, which I blame Stephenie for, I still don't see what he's done that is that bad. Kissing Bella when she didn't want it was wrong as was getting her to kiss him before the fight, I don't deny that and neither did Jacob. But how can these things undermine everything else that Jacob has done for Bella? Helping her from her depression, saving her life, the fans can just forget this because he kissed precious little Bella? Why does Bella not get any of the blame (for the kiss before the fight)? And how come when Edward does something wrong, like being extremely controlling, breaking Bella's truck, they either think it's not bad or make out that it's okay even though they still believe what Jacob did was horrendous? The only reason I can think that people hate him so much is simply because he slightly came between Edward and Bella's perfect little love story. And anyone that does that, no matter what their intentions, will be hated.

snoznoodle THANK YOU! The hate for Jacob is so ridiculously uncalled for I gave up trying to defend him on the Twilight spot because nobody seems to want to listen. There shouldn't be anything wrong with trying to protect your best friend who you happen to be (unfortunately? yes, unfortunately I think) in love with from what you think will be a horrible death by the hands of her supposed "love of her life". So he played a little dirty sometimes, it's not exactly like Edward is the example of the perfect guy (it's ironic and sad that everyone thinks he is). And I blame Meyer's terrible writing and imagination for him imprinting on Renesme. I also think Leah was a perfect option for him. She didn't have to say "and ALAKASAM! now they're in love too!" but she could have at least hinted at something happening in the future. That'd be perfectly acceptable and no where NEAR as disturbing. MINI RANT: ENDED.

xxXsk8trXxx I don't get it either Jacob was nice and kind, he made Bella feel better. And then Bella turns him down for Edward! Jacob is much better than him! And then Smeyer makes him imprint on A FREAKIN BABY!!!!!! HELL BE LIKE 40 WHEN SHES 18!!!!!!!!!!! HE COULD'VE BEEN A GOOD CHARACTER!!!!!!!!
