But I think last night's episode made it obvious that Damon loves Elena more. He loves her so much he wants HER to be HAPPY even if that means it is WITHOUT him and THAT is true love. Maybe he doesn't necessarily love her more...I have a hard time deciding that, but he loves her more unselfishly.

I had picked Stefan awhile ago but now I can't pick. They BOTH love Elena and they love differently so it is hard to say who loves Elena more in my opinion

To me they both love her ALOT. It's just Damon loves her so much that he is willing to let her go and be happy with someone else. Stefan wouldnt have done that... and im not saying that's bad.

I wouldn't say that "just because he lets her go" that Damon loves her more. Stefan and Elena have been fighting to be together all season. Damon knows that Elena loves Stefan, that's why he has to let her go. I think they love her in different ways, but I think that Stefan has had more time to get to know Elena for who she truly is deep down and for that he probably loves her more. No denying Damon's love though. I just think it's a little silly to use that one scene as proof that Damon loves her more. They would both die for her in a heartbeat. They both want her to be happy.

it's hard to choose, but I'd think Damon, the way he wud do anything to protect her. Where as Stefan is more of the good guy type, so he's usually just thinking about what's right. Where as all Damon is thinking about is ELENA ELENA ELENA. It's kinda sad, coz she doesn't love him the same way he loves her!!! Poor sad Damon :(

Just because Damon compelled her and let her go to be happy does not mean he loves her more than stefan. Damon does not know Elena, like Stefan does intimately and i'm not just talking about sex (even though that is part of it), but there alone time together, where Stefan has got to know her on a much deeper level than Damon ever will, well not yet anyway. All this takes time and when Elena starts feeling comfortable enough with Damon, to have a lot of deep and meaningful talks, then maybe it might be a yes, but it's a big no for now.

Stefan loves Elena. That's why he recognizes her right to freedom of choice and respects her.

Damon is obsessed. That's why he will go against her wishes and throw everyone and their mother under the bus to keep Elena alive. He is also selfish - Elena's life matters more than everyone else's because HE (thinks he is) in love with her. As usual it's all about him.
