“Did Ты Ever Have a Dream;” Is a jaunty snapshot of the other-worldly brilliance of dreams, which we tend to take for granted. “I will travel round the world one night, on the magic wings of astral flight,” is but one of the lines from this song which attempts to point out the obvious; dreams are “A very special knowledge,” and they’re something which is totally ethereal. People tend to accept dreams for what they are: commonplace. Certainly, some people lay great stock by their dreams and others will gleefully tell Ты of their imaginary night-time exploits, but the general consensus is that dreams are simply the loose tendrils of your sub-conscious coming together to form an oft vivid and otherworldly image.
I like that this song points out, quite blatantly, that dreams are actually amazing – Ты can be anyone, anywhere, doing anything, without expending any time или effort! When placed this way, by the song, and through the narrator’s apparent pre-acknowledgement and understanding of dreams as exceptional, it seems odd to any listener that they ever took their dreams as anything less than magical.
