Does Anyone Know Why The Death Eaters Are Called...Well....The 'Death Eaters'?

What MrsEric_M could be part of the reason but I doubt it's the only reason или even the basic one because not all Death Eaters had the same virew and attitudes even if they did commit the same type of crimes.

I'm not sure if this is a fact или just a theory 'cause I can't remember where I heard this, but makes a lot of sense to me;

Voldemort naming his followers "Death Eaters" has something to do with his own desire to conquer death, to become immortal. As in, that they somehow help him avoid death by serving and supporting him. I'd reckon this might be at least part of the author's intent. After all even his alias means something like "death's flight / flight from deth" (Vol de mort)...

They enjoy killing muggle-borns, torturing people who stand against them, или even killing people who stand against them and they have a very dark outlook on life. They tend to " Eat Death up" they kill so often, and like I say they look like the walking dead some of them are so brutal.

Because they eat peoples death! LOL jst kidding thats a joke that my friend and I came up with. I just think they like killing muggle borns или those who are not purebloods.
