Near watched as Saki, now 2 years old, crawled around in the floor. It was his and Matt's turn to watch the baby while Misa and L worked.

Matt was lounged on the couch, playing his DS. Near felt like he was the only one doing any REAL babysitting...

"When're L and Misa coming back?" Matt asked, putting his now dead DS in his pocket, "I need to get back to Wammy's and charge my DS."

"They should be back in 20 minutes."

"....Matt...what if something happens to Misa as well? Who would Saki live with?"

"Probably Watari."

"What if something happens to Watari?"

"Then...I don't know. Maybe Misa's family или something."

"...Can't she come live with us?"

"Huh? ...Well I guess but...if she still has family to go to then I don't see why-"

"We're like her family aren't we? So she should come live with us..."

"...Where did this come from Near?"

"...I don't think it would be fair for us not to be able to see her again if...something were to happen..."

Matt smiled, sympathetically, "Aw, Near, I'm sure L won't let that happen."

"I hope so..." Near sighed a little and twirled his hair.

"...I guess Mello was wrong. Ты do care, don't you, Near?"

"...Yes I do. I have emotions, unlike what Mello says."

Matt laughed a little.

Then Watari came in, "Boys, Misa is on her up, I can go ahead and take Ты back to Wammy's."
