I also don´t believe she is, it appears that they just fleshed out the witch character of the story a bit more.
And if Queen Grimhilde seems to be like her, it could very well be, because the queen of the original tale might be inspired by Elizabeth Báthory herself. I´d have to look into that, have a great book of details to the origins of fairy tales published by the Brothers Grimm :)

For everyone who doesn´t know, who Elizabeth Báthory was : She lived from 1560-1614, was a hungarian countess and is said to be the worst female serial killer of all time! She belived that bathing in the blood of young woman/virgins would keep her young (or so it´s said, was never proved to be right), tortured and killed them and kept many woman imprisoned. Because of her family's influence, she didn´t had to face trial, but was imprisoned for life in 1610. The number of her victims was said to go as high as 650, but it was most likely something about 20-50 something.
