This is a feel good flick. I don't have any major issues with it. It even had a throwback romantic boat ride sequence that was reminiscent of TLM. The plotholes were scant. This was a tightly-written, and basically solid movie.

Tangled has beautiful animation, for sure... But the "humor" in the movie ruined it for me big time! The only time I laughed was when Rapunzel hit herself with the pan. But I found the film's humor to be corny and like that of "Shrek." Calling the tavern "The Snuggly Duckling?" What kind of name is that?! Maximus looked like a mash between the horse from "The Road to El Dorado," Samson ("Sleeping Beauty"), and Achilles ("The Hunchback of Notre Dame"). He also acted like Scooby Doo with his sniffing along the ground like a dog. The idea of a "cop horse" was also not funny. That is the worst part about this movie that really gets on my nerves! A horse acting like a dog..?! For real, Disney? :o It was so awful! It was the same with Sven in Frozen, but toned down, thank god! I found Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to be a lot more fun than this movie. (Dopey throwing the jewels into the closet and flying with the bag getting thrown into the closet himself, making the classic Disney Wistle Sound) Even Mr. Smee getting drunk in Peter Pan and making hiccups are more fun than this movie. I saw Tangled at the cinema when it came out with some friends and one of them was laughing hysterically whenever Maximus was on screen. But it just goes to show you, that people have different kind of humor and that is great. But I just don't like the humor in this movie. I think Disney took it too far with this one...

My favorite Disney movie and for that matter, my favorite movie, period.

This film gave me distinct Disney vibes as well as a very cohesive plot, and the animation for the most part was spectacular in terms of gesture and detail. The facial expressions in Tangled, especially during Eugene's death scene, have made me cry multiple times and still succeed in doing so. I also adore Tangled's optimism as well as the character depth, interaction, and development portrayed.

I acknowledge that many of the songs were subpar when compared to most songs from the Disney Renaissance. However, the emotions behind each of Tangled's songs were palpable and genuine.

Tangled's songs are actually helping to subdue my OCD - the songs relax me, and when I'm relaxed, I tend to succumb less to compulsion.

I could also really connect with Rapunzel, and not simply because she was portrayed as a character one could relate to, as a character with spunk and with dreams and who uses modern dialect (like "like") even in song. Sure, I connected with her through having a dream (don't all DPs have dreams?), but I also connected with her because we both were sheltered by our mothers (albeit Rapunzel's was fake), resulting in insecurity regarding other human beings (for her, namely Eugene) and in constant efforts to keep ourselves busy (for me, it's mainly through books, art, and music). I also connected with her in that we both initially had something keeping us back from having the chance to enjoy freedom - for her, it was the Gothel-induced fear of the world, and for me, it was my OCD and my shyness.

Unlike PrueFever, I enjoyed the humor. Although it must be taken into account that my sense of humor is likely not fully developed and that I can sometimes find immature humor quite funny (such as in the How to Train Your Dragon books).

Again (and I cannot say it enough times), Tangled is my favorite movie of all time, and I sincerely doubt that any other movie will replace it.
