Yeah, Beauty and the Beast was given a best picture nomination in 1991. However, the more proactive female character was Ariel ( and the Academy likes either proactive females or the tortured soul females), and Ariel would probably win Best Actress.

Paige O Hara actually cryed in Beast´s death scene and everybody had to ask her if she was ok,so shewould be the most likely to win

Tough choice between Belle and Ariel, as I see they both have good performance in their movies.

I'd definitely nominate Belle because her character and scenes are amazing! But I feel that Ariel would win it because of her scenes, singing, and overall popularity.

She seems to be the best-received by critics, not to mention how acclaimed her movie is too.

Even though she and her movie are my least favourite out of this group, I can definitely see Belle winning. Overall, she's loved by many and her movie is well received.

Ariel is as spunky as I am if not even more. She gives everything up for true love and I admire that greatly.
