The top 10 female characters of the 2008-2012 countdown are as follows:
1. Rapunzel (Tangled)
2. Merida (Brave)
3. Tiana (The Princess and the Frog)
4. Charlotte "Lottie" La Bouff (The Princess and the Frog)
5. Barbie (Toy Story 3)
6. Ellie Fredricksen (Up)
7. Mittens (Bolt)
8. Bonnie (Toy Story 3)
9. Mother Gothel (Tangled)
10. Tinker Bell (Tinker Bell)
Tiana: Tiana is a great role model. Working hard is one of the most important things to do in this world. She's independent and a beautiful grown woman I'd say. She dreams big and I like that she has a gift for cooking lol, I'm into that stuff.
Charlotte: She cracks me up every time, so funny! She's really spoiled but caring at the same time. I think she's the perfect flawed character.
Ellie Fredricksen: ''You don't talk very much... I like you.'' I don't know why I love that line so much, it's cute! Also her relationship with Carl is the sweetest, it makes me tear up. She seems like a very passionate character even though we didn't see much of her.
Mother Gothel: I like her, she's a classy villain. I love the Mother knows best reprise, it's my fave song from Tangled because there's truth to the lyrics and it's targeted to naive girls. She's pretty funny and some of her quotes are clever.
Charlotte: She's so bubbly and energetic and really irresistible! I really love her voice and whenever she appears on the screen she really grabs my attention, she's so hilarious!
I will comment on Mother Gothel, Barbie, and Rapunzel soon too. Maybe Bonnie too =).
Tiana: Tell this girl she can't do something and she will prove you wrong. Tiana is a girl who isn't afraid to stand up and prove to others, she can and she will get to where she wants to get.
Charlotte: The sidekick that won the hearts of just about everyone. Her friendship with Tiana in that time period on America, was one that if it wasn't Disney wouldn't have lasted. She's 100% Southern Bell and 100% good friend.
Ellie F: Ellie is one of the strongest Disney and Pixar women. She's a talker and an open friendly person, who you can be yourself around. Even when she learns she can't have kids, she doesn't think of herself for to long and bounces back to normal sweet caring Ellie. She and Carl also have the Disney Relationship of all relationships.
I'll do more tomorrow or the next day.
Bonnie: She's the type of kid any toy would want to belong to. She's fun and imaginative, and she treats her toys more like friends than objects.
Ellie: The thing I love most about Ellie is that she never gave up. She kept her dream of going to Paraside falls alive, despite life's setbacks, and she was supportive of Carl from the moment she met him. Even when she knew she wasn't going to be around, she still found a way to encourage him by leaving that message in the back of her adventure book. She is a truly inspiring character, and not only is she my favorite Pixar female, but one of my top Disney females of all time.
Mother Gothel: She’s an amazing villain and she’s so devious and manipulative. I love how she uses her “mother knows best” excuse to try to manipulate Rapunzel.
Rapunzel: I like how she’s sheltered but is determined to see the world all the same. I love how she’s such a dreamy character, plus I love her energetic too! She was so cute and hilarious when she left the tower, I love how she had such conflicting emotions!
Barbie: She’s really, really clever. I love the scene with her and Ken and his wardrobe, that was hilarious! She’s awesome because she has a really good heart and would do anything to help her friends.
Tiana: I love how Tiana is really the first realistic Princess. She doesn't plan on sitting around waiting for a man to come sweep her off her feet. She believes in hard work and is determined to make a life for herself, and make her dreams come true. She's sweet and kind, but you don't wanna mess with this sassy New Orleans girl.
I might comment on Merida and Charlotte later too.
Ellie: Ellie is my favorite Pixar female character. Despite her short scene in the movie, she "speaks" so much! She has big influence on the movie -- why, she's the reason why Carl goes to Paradise Falls. She is energetic and full of fun, yet she isn't bitter when her childhood dream of going to Paradise Falls is never fulfilled, just because she's contented and happy to live her life with her one true love. She and Carl are one of my favorite Disney couples ever!
Merida - Out of all the recent heroines, who came out, Merida is definitely my favorite! I love her fiery nature and her determination to change her fate! Her accent and her hair are also amazing and so memorable! And I love that she's so good with her bow and arrows!
Tiana - She's really nice, but I do find her a bit boring and unmemorable. Totally overshadows by Charlotte imo.
Charlotte "Lottie" La Bouff - She's the best character in Princess and the Frog. She's not only funny and sweet, but she's also a great and loyal friend. During the 1920s racism was still extremely strong in America and it was almost unheard of that a white, rich girl will treat a black, poor girl as equal. And this is exactly what makes Lottie such a great character!
Barbie - The most hilarious character in all the Toy Story movies (along with Ken) :)
Oh and I'm really surprised Merida only has 2 comments! I thought more people felt strongly about her
Barbie: I absolutely LOVE Barbie! I love how she destroyed the stereotype of "bimbo Barbie" because she's anything but - the complete opposite actually. A great character!
Mittens: A hugely underrated character, in my opinion. I was so surprised yet so happy when she made it into the top 10 of this countdown. Her dry and blunt personality just makes me laugh, "Now I'm concerned on a number of levels!" To me she is the best character in 'Bolt' and I wish she would get more attention. I sympathize with her because she's had a hard life and most of her hard exterior is a front. All that's left to say is that she definitely deserved that happy ending.
Bonnie: There is literally nothing bad to say about this character. She's playful, lively, imaginative and just so adorable. It makes me happy that Andy's toys went to someone who will most certainly take care of them.
