Uruguay depended a lot on Forlan's inspiration. I can't say that any Spanish players deserved the Golden Ball, maybe Villa but again he had a surge of players behind him helping him score... posted Больше года.

Its hard to pick just one: I just wish he'd played a bit bloody better when he played for Man Utd! ;) He was definitely Uruguay's star player, he got them through the competition. But there are a couple of other players, who I would have been happy to see win it. posted Больше года.

Personally, I think he totally deserved his golden ball because he was the true spirit of Uruguay, he scored amazing goals and gave it all! He even played although he was injured! Honestly, he impressed me, he was the best and a true leader who respects the players around him! Moreover he thinks about the team first and made good passes! Without him, Uruguay wouldn't have gone this far, for sure! He definetly was the best in this tournament because he didn't really have ''star players'' to help him score like in Germany, Holland or Spain ^^!
