which was like the medieval equivalent of a pay-per-view fight, the Mountain delivered the show\'s most crushing blow—literally. Watching the gigantic killer use his bare hands to [SPOILER ALERT!] explode Prince Oberyn\'s head was as shocking as last season\'s Red Wedding. In the aftermath, fans lost their new favorite character and, unless Tyrion schemes his way out of this one, are about to lose their longtime favorite. The third actor to play The Mountain, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson—the world\'s second strongest man—is a real-life Goliath, so
decided to make contact. Translated from his Icelandic tongue, Björnsson answered our grab-bag
survey, in which the strongman revealed his character\'s inner psyche and even wrote a Mountain-inspired poem.
If the Mountain were forbidden from fighting, what would he do...if he could only choose between picking flowers, raising ponies, and knitting blankets?
Picking flowers. Because then he could tear the "heads" off the flowers.
What analogy would you use to describe the way you smashed Oberyn\'s head?
If the Mountain had Twitter, what would he tweet after defeating Oberyn?
He would post a photo of himself with the Viper\'s crushed head with a "thumbs up" emoji.
is indeed a game about power. So far, who\'s winning?
No one seems to be winning for sure. Although, Daenerys Targaryen seems to be getting really powerful—she has three dragons and is amassing a big army. But I point to Dave and Dan [the show\'s creators], no one is safe and everyone can lose.
The Mountain doesn\'t seem to have many friends. If they gave him a chance, what character do you think he\'d get along most with on the show?
Write us a short poem about Game of Thrones from the Mountain\'s perspective.
Crushing, breaking, slashing, burning, killing. I am nature.
This is a really cute photo of you and Cersei. What were you guys laughing about? Give us a behind-the-scenes look.
Like I had already said, Cersei can be really cool. There she just told me one of her many really funny jokes.
You\'re the world\'s 2nd strongest man. What exercise or challenge prepared you most for the role of the Mountain?
The show has hinted that the Mountain may fight his brother, the Hound, sometime in the future. Who would you bet on to win?
The Mountain doesn\'t give a shit. He has a lot of experience fighting, winning, and killing. On top of that, he\'s a sociopath—he would kill anyone, anywhere. The Hound, however, cares more, and I think that would be his downfall.
Let\'s play a quick round of word association. What\'s the first thing that pops into your head for each of these names?
At the end of the episode, it\'s unclear if the Mountain is still alive. Are you dead?
The show\'s creators David Benioff and Dan Weiss have the power over the plot. They\'ve got a way of keeping everyone on their toes—and I mean everyone—so you\'ll have to ask them.
