QUINN for all the awards! I'm pretty sure she's the only one who hates Finchel.

Cory was full on AMAZING lastnight!!!!!!!! I just love this man but sadly Finn is in for a world of heartbreak thanks to Rachel again :( ALSO Quinn was AWESOME so sad she's leaving but what a climatic end to her character and that speech...ALL THE AWARDS MISS QUINN/DIANNA!!!<3

@CDB I'll always pick him because he's my favorite you know that :p I'm curious as to what he did so wrong to piss you off because if it's about the engagement thing, Rachel is about to cause him alot of pain now that's she's been accepted to NYADA. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

@Crime-Drama-Bee I always pick him because he's my favourite character overall therefore my favourite character most episodes..this episode I picked him purely on the basis of the line "if they want it they'll have to pry it from my sequined gloved hand" and how well he pulled off Michael jackson..that and as FM said I feel bad for him because of what Rachel's about to put him through..what exactly did he do to piss you off this episode? I've picked others before though, I can recall picking Quinn, Kurt, Santana, Blaine and Puck and probably more before now.

Quinn was pretty damn perfect in this episode. Also, Santana.

A three way tie between Santana, Artie, and for his one small emotionally awesome scene, Burt. That talk between father and son just tugged on all my heartstrings.

With the exception of Artie and Santana and to an extent Kurt (for his unnaturally high voice that can tackle some of MJ's tricky range) I really didn't think the rest of the cast fit the songs they were covering. Michael's voice is just too sharp to try and recreate it accurately, this was evident especially in Smooth Criminal, where Sebastian just couldn't hold his side of the duet, although Santana was perfect for it.

Also, I'm probably going to fangirl hell for saying this, but I was a little glad that Blaine got sidelined, even if the particular method involved salt rocks to the eye. He has an ok voice, plays a strong SUPPORTING role to Kurt, but when he takes 90% of the screen time he becomes flat, irritating, and just plain uninteresting.

@FM19 & Mangie- I didn't like that after sleeping on it he still didn't come to his senses at all. Instead, he seemed to forget all the drama in his life that just occurred. He didn't even question the fact that she still didn't reply, which isn't a good sign after a proposal. Also, when Rachel asked him for more time he just locked them both in the classroom and sang (well, they both did) until she said "Yes."

She was perfect. I love wise Quinn.

@CDB yes but again thoes are signs of his fear and desperation because right now he's thinking all his worth is just to be someone's 'significant other'. I know you're not a Finn-fan but try looking at it from his angle, think of all he's been through in the last 3yrs on the show add to the fact that this year has been his worst from his growing low selfesteem, to being bullied by Santana who used every one of his insecurities to hurt him, to losing his chances at a football scholarship, to his unsupportive family who thinks he's just gonna run some tireshop for the rest of his life, to his controlling girlfriend (no offense guys but she is) basically trying to decide his future for him, and we come full circle to getting the most devestating news...learning his father was a discharged junkie who committed suicide while Finn was a baby! All this has bound to do alot of damage to a person because instead of dealing with his pain he's living in denile and trying to block it out by desperately holding onto the one thing that makes him happy. That proposal was about the beginning of Finn's meltdown which will happen and the added stress of Rachel being accepted into NYADA (when she said 'yes' only because she thought she wasn't gonna get in) is only gonna cause Finn to reach a severe breaking point.

Also shouldn't Rachel be questioning why Finn is doing this? His motives to that proposal aren't exactly rational. She knows he's in a vulnerable sate and I've not once heard her ask if he was alright and if he wanted to talk to her about what happened with his mom. Any loving partner would be interested in their significant other's feelings especially if it had to do with something as serious as death or a suicide in the family.

@FM19- I'll try to see things your way if you try to see things from mine too. I don't think his family is unsupportive. I just don't think they know what Finn wants to do because he hasn't told them. Even I don't know what he wants. Clearly he doesn't want Rachel's dream, so I don't know what he is interested in. They can't be super supportive of big dreams if everyone thinks that Lima's all he wants. I'm pretty sure that Burt and Carole would support him 100% in whatever he wants to do, unless it was joining the army, and I understand why not in that case.
I don't think Finn is as darkly depressed and unstable as you describe him. I think he's pretty strong, and maybe he may struggle with those things, he never shows any signs of being at a breaking point. Maybe in the real world he'd be more troubled, but this is Glee, where big problems in characters' personal lives randomly appear and disappear, never to be mentioned again. The show makes it seem like the characters should have all this baggage but they don't unless it's pertinent to a storyline.
Rachel is controlling and an awful girlfriend to Finn a lot, but it doesn't mean Finn's the perfect angel of a boyfriend. But in my mind, Rachel would have comforted him offscreen. She obviously told him somewhere between the last episode and now that she needed more time, and I'm guessing that we didn't see all of their conversations between then and now. We'll never know.
But I'm off track because I'm trying my hardest to focus on Finn here. I'm not defending Rachel in any way for this episode. I just didn't like either of them.

@CDB word is going around that Finn's BIG storyline is gonna get darker, emotional and that he's gonna reach a breaking point as I kept telling you. Even Cory hinted at this and yes Finn's shown all signs of depression I could name off a list but just so you know blocking out your emotions a lot, trying to fix everyone else's problems instead of your own, feelings of loss and self doubt, not to mention denial are all signs of depression. I know cause I've lived it and I'm still living it. I'm not trying to get morbid I hate seeing Finn like this but I'm excited because its great material for Cory!

^ For once I agree with ForsakenMoon19, Finn proablaby depressed though I'm not a finn fan by any means it won't surprise me. Lets not pin this all on Rachel and his mom; finding out your dad isn't the superman he always was will put you and your mind in a serious bad place but depression is also genetic I think his dad was prone to it and therefore he is. Though I still not a big fan of his; I can relate to him more where he's at right now.
My dad had a brain injury my senior year and now is at the point where we almost should put him in a home and would have to if I didn't stay home with him or my mom wasn't a nurse. The dad I had 4 years ago and the dad I have now are very differnt. My senior year was very bad and the bullies I had that I could deal with before, I couldn't deal with then. So I went home to an empty house, got a parttime job and worked ridicalous hours to deal with my dad being in the hosptial for months and my mom working or being with him 2hours away.

I feel for finn I really do, but he really should rethink this proposal and I think he'll be fine after it sets in; he should go through a coping period where while he's in this funk but he will eventually pull through. I didn't care for him or Rachel in the episode but that was mainly because I felt they both were making a big mistake jumping in like this.

@piperlovegood THANK YOU!!!!!!! And I say this with admiration since you're not a Finn fan but you clearly understand his side of things and what he's going through. I appreciate that not all none-Finn fans have their eyes closed like most. You gave some really interesting points and I'm also sorry about what happened with your dad :(
