Гарри Поттер против Сумерек Вопрос

To those who don't like Harry Potter: Do Ты believe in those criticisms of promoting witchcraft/religous thing?

I'm just curious cause I was just Чтение Rowling's bio and I stumbled upon those. I don't know that much about those Christian things so I'm confuzzled about it.

'promoting religious things'? Yes. JK herself сказал(-а) that there was a very Christian under-tone to her books.

'promoting witchcraft'? I guess it depends on what 'promoting' means. I mean, JK does make magic look all cool and stuff. However, the magic that is in the Книги is not physically able to be done outside the fictional world of Harry Potter, so it's not like anything is going to come out of it. (Also, Voldemort and Dumbledore were both characters heavily involved in magic and both had that back-fire very painfully in their faces, so it shows that magic has negative consequences if Ты get carried away. Just sayin'.)

No, I don't believe in any form of witchcraft, so even if Rowling was trying to promote it (which I don't think she was), she wouldn't have gotten very far.

I'm not too fond of any religion at the moment, either. I don't know anything about Rowling's religious beliefs, so I don't know how much of her Письмо opposes what she's expected to believe, или what others believe, but really, beliefs are opposed all the time. There's no reason to bann and destroy everything that opposes something.

I am a dedicated Roman Catholic, and I have to say, that Harry Potter doesn't promote witchcraft at all. The magic is just part of the world. The main thing is the adventures and lives of the characaters.

I've heard that they were challenged quite a bit, yes. But I do think the Книги promote good themes, such as Любовь and loyalty. They don't tell kids, "Witchcraft is real. After Ты read this, Ты can go out and kill people just like Voldemort." Once Ты take away all the magic, Ты have a lot of very good lessons underneath.
Some Christian (and other religious) groups, however, say that the Книги encourage children to practice witchcraft. Personally, I think that Harry Potter provides good lessons. Some groups do use Harry Potter to teach kids about Любовь and loyalty. But, this is an opinion, and, like all opinions, not everyone agrees.
Here's a link to some debates. One of the most prominent and well-known people speaking out against Harry Potter is Laura Mallory.
