House found himself on the roof of the hospital when the dawn broke. He was in his gown, sitting on the very ledge. He was puffing on one of his cigars as the sun rose. It was so peaceful here. And he was feeling so serene. Until Wilson popped in.
"Mind if I take a drag?" He asked sarcastically. He was in the doorway, holding it halfway open. He stood there for about seven секунды before actually coming near him.
"Her mothers?"
"Cameron?"
"Cuddy."
"You showed her the ring?"
"Because Ты refused to."
"Damn it."
He took a long drag, causing a good amount of ashes to fall. They blew away when the morning breeze blew. They didn't look at each other. They just stared out, watching the sun rise.
"How do Ты propose to fight for her?"
"I'll find a way."
"It shouldn't be that hard. She's kinda shaken up right now. She's obviously going to turn to you."
"Not after our spat last night."
"It--you--still."
"And not after who I saw her with last night."
Wilson turned to look at him.
"Her OB-GYN. Came for a visit. But, he was dressed like me."
"Like a....cripple?"
"Casually."
"Well--you know--It's not like she did the flirting."
"It's the fact that she let him. And she felt a sense of joy towards those compliments, statements, или whatever Ты want to call that bullshit."
"Jealous much?"
He didn't respond. He just kept looking towards the sun. He took another long drag.
"Now you're going to kill yourself, twice as fast. Stop that."
He snatched the nearly finished cigar out of House's hands, throwing it over the roof, letting it fall into the hospital fountain.
"Thanks for that. She's obviously moved on. So should I."
"Stop! Talk-to-me!"
Wilson was slightly angry. His voice has tensed and changed its tone and level. House finally looked at him, waiting for him to say something else.
"First Ты don't tell me that Ты were proposing until after Ты guys break up, Ты didn't let me help Ты pick out the ring, Ты told me that Ты bought the ring yourself when in fact it was her mother that gave Ты the ring and then Ты don't bother to mention how serious about this Ты are."
"I told Ты I was proposing--"
"Over the phone. And like what, a день before Ты were going to?"
"I didn't want to Ты to help me pick out the ring because I knew already which ring I was going to use. Before I even picked out a ring, I went straight for Cuddy's old place. Was looking for the dad, she сказал(-а) he was out wasn't going to be Главная for about an hour. So I waited for her father. When he got back I told them first that she was pregnant. Mother was thrilled, father, threw a свинг, качели at me. That's why I had a bruise on my cheek for a week."
"You knew she was pregnant, before she knew herself?"
"How long have Ты known me?"
Wilson nodded, signifying he could go on.
"Her mother had to calm him down as I got up from the floor. Then I tried to reassure him and told them I planned on marrying her. Again the mother was thrilled but at least this time so was the dad. I told them I needed their blessing and they gave me the ring."
He stopped for a moment. He gave a sigh of regret before continuing.
"I am sorry about the last thing. I just assumed Ты knew how I felt about this but. You're right," he paused again.
"I've been serious about it ever since. I hoped it would go somewhere and I wouldn't have to say anything или do anything to make things change. But after a while I realized I did. I do have to make that certain Переместить to let things progress. We were stuck in the boyfriend-girlfriend phase. So I wanted to change that."
"So Ты decided to get her pregnant. Smooth move."
"That wasn't my fault. She thought I was losing my little talent of mine so she decided to test me with no pills. In her own actions, she committed the fault. Causing herself to get pregnant. I merely just played my part, assuming that maybe she wanted to get pregnant and that's why she was off the pill. But then. Well Ты know the rest. But no, I was going to propose ever since. Wasn't a forced decision."
Wilson closed his eyes and gave a quick nod. They both remained silent the whole time they were up there. Once the sun reached high, House's watch went off. It was seven.
"Shouldn't Ты be in your bed?"
"Made them discharge me last night."
Wilson looked at him in terror.
"I'm fine." House began to slide off back onto the floor of the roof. He began limping towards the door as he threw back two vicodin.
"Where Ты going?"
He didn't turn around, but just opened the door. Slowly.
"Where do Ты think?"
Wilson sighed. It wasn't a regretful, a sympathetic nor a sad sigh. It was an amazed sigh.
"You really Любовь her do you?"
House stood still. Then the slightly turned his head towards Wilson.
"With everything I've got left."
---
She was just asleep in her bed. They finally had moved her out of the ICU and she was in a normal room. House was watching her from the window. He had changed back into his causal clothes, and he was accompanied by his cane.
He tapped his cane against the window repetitively, as if waiting. Suddenly someone had come up behind him and laid their hand on his shoulder. He realized the touch.
"Hey. Why did Ты let them discharge you?"
"I'm fine now."
It was Cameron.
"You're still in a fragile condition."
"Barely."
"She's fine. So is little Greg." Cameron grew a smile as she uttered the name. So did House.
"They're both healthy," she continued, "but they need to rest. So do you."
"I've taken my resting elsewhere."
"When?"
"Earlier. On the roof."
"What were you--?"
"Thinking."
"About?"
"Did I ever tell Ты about a walk we took?"
"What does that have to do with you--"
"I was thinking about it. First time I actually told her I loved her. It wasn't straight out, but it was implied, and she knew."
Cameron sat down on the bench and listened intently as House went on.
"It was around early September. I was sitting at a bench under this дерево in the park..."

Many months earlier....
House was just laying across the bench with his arms folded behind his head. He was humming Journey's "Faithfully" as he rested underneath the дерево hovering above him. Suddenly he heard his name being called in the distance...
"House!" With every call, the voice grew louder and closer. Soon enough the figure's head was arching over him. It was Cuddy.
"What do Ты want dear sir?"
"You to do your job. Your over an час late for work."
"Can Ты blame me?"
He stretched his arms out, referring her to the день that was out. The sun shining, breeze blowing, and the birds chirping.
"Seriously. The teams waiting and I got a case for you--"
"Highway run," House began to sing now the song he had been humming earlier.
"Into the midnight sun. Wheels go round and round, you're on my mind. Restless hearts, sleep alone tonight, sendin' all my Любовь along the wire...They say that road ain't no place to start a family, right down the line its been Ты and me..... And lovin' a Музыка man ain't always what it's supposed to be...oh girl, Ты stand by me...I'm forever yours.....faithfully......"
Cuddy just smiled at him. This was no ordinary smile however, it was a smile greater than all the rest.
"House--"
"Circus life," he interrupted her again.
"Under the big вверх world, we all need the clowns to make us smile...Through Космос and time..Always another show...Wondering where I am..lost without...you.."
"House--"
He interrupted her again but got louder.
"And being apart ain't easy on the Любовь affair..Two strangers learn to fall in Любовь again....And I get the joy of rediscovering you..And oh girl, and Ты stand, by me...I'm forever yours.....Faithfully....Oh, oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh oh, oh oh oh oh oh ohhhh, Faithfully, I'm still yours....I'm forever yours......Ever yours.....faithfully...."
Cuddy lifted House's head up from the bench and sat down. She laid it back down on her lap.
She smiled at him. Then he said,
"You still want to go back to work?"
She laughed. And put her hand on his head.
"Can Ты blame me?"
He reached up and kissed her. Her smile remained on her face for the whole time. Even after.
"Pagers going off."
"Ignore it."
He reached up again, but she pulled back.
"Not mine."
He dropped his head on the bench.
"Damn."
"Shall we go then?"
"Oh shut up."
And they walked back, both smiling with House's arm around her shoulders, bringing her to his side.

"When was this?" Cameron asked eagerly.
"Long time ago. Way before we started dating."
"Who else knows?"
"Wilson. Ты know."
"So even when Ты weren't together, Ты were together."
"Yeah," and with that said, he walked away, before saying anything more.
---
"When did she tell you?" Cameron asked curiously. House was kicked back in his chair, twirling his cane.
"That she really wasn't a man? Well we had that discussion a long time ago--"
"No. When did she tell Ты she loved you?"
He sighed.
"Few months after I "told" her. One night.."

Many months earlier
House was playing his piano. He was messing around with the keys when a knock on the door sounded. He walked over and opened the door slowly. It was Cuddy.
"Mind if I come in?"
He gave a curt nod and let her walk in. She took a сиденье, место, сиденья on his диван, мягкий уголок as he went to go get her a drink from the kitchen.
"Scotch--"
"On the rocks. I know."
He limped back out with another bottle and her glass. He had gone through one whole bottle already.
He gave her her glass and sat back down at the piano.
"Play something."
"Why are Ты here?"
House stared at the keys while waiting for her response.
She didn't say anything. So he looked up, and she was lying down on the couch. She just stared at him from the couch.
"Fine."
He grabbed a remote from his таблица and turned on the stereo. Eric Clapton's Wonderful tonight came on.
"Was that your way of asking me to dance?"
"Do you?"
He got up from the bench and urged her over. She got up and took off her heels.
"I'd prefer not to dance all night like that." She walked up to him and they began to dance, as Eric Clapton sang.
"So?"
"Hm."
She was in a slight daze. The Музыка was practically a melody, and House was the rocking chair, rocking her to sleep.
"Why are Ты here?"
He had bent his head down. Her head rested on his shoulder, her face looking at their hands clasped.
"I'm still waiting for the results on that," she finally replied.
"You come here to tell me something?"
"No. But I'm waiting for something. Something that will allow me to Показать Ты what I've been trying.."
He continued to sway her around the room, slowly, being very cautious of his leg. She just kept her same position. Head rested on his shoulder, watching their clasped hands.
"You come here to Kiss me?"
She just lifted her head and closed her eyes. She slowly opened them back up, appearing tenderly drowsy.
"I got tired of waiting."
He just looked at her and she just looked at him, face to face before inching closer. Before their lips met, she had harmonized with the stereo singing,
"And I feel wonderful, because I see the Любовь light in your eyes, and the wonder of it all, is that Ты just don't realize, how much I Любовь you."

"Then what happened?"
"Well I wanted a relationship, but she didn't. We both felt that if we got together it wouldn't last and it would come into a plunging fall. We both knew it wouldn't work. So we had it how it was for a few months. Then Wilson being the meddler he is, convinced me to tell her."
He then got up from his chair and began to walk out. As he walked out, he spoke his last word.
"Those songs, if Ты really listen to them and listen to the lyrics, you'll know...They have a bigger meaning. They meant еще than how they were portrayed."

To make sure that Ты stay with me
I'm literally giving Ты my heart.
