KISS Announces Australian Shows For 40th Anniversary Tour; New Zealand Dates Soon

KISS is coming to Australia and soon to New Zealand. The American hard rock band will return to Down Under for their 40th Anniversary and they are bringing their famous “The Spider” stage with them.
Paul Stanley, Eric Singer, Tommy Thayer and Gene Simmons have set a seven-date schedule for Australia with The Spider, the massive 43,000 kg stage production moved by 38 computer-controlled winches with 220 automated lights and 900 pieces of pyrotechnics powered by 400,000 watts of sound.
“I’ve loved Australia since the very first time I visited,” Stanley said in a statement. “It is one of the greatest secrets on earth and probably better to keep it that way. The food, wine and women are all extraordinary and everyone has always welcomed me and made me feel like it is home.”
The iconic rockers aren’t travelling alone, though. They will be joined by The Dead Daisies line-up of Richard Fortus, Marco Mendoza, John Corabi, Dizzy Reed, David Lowly and Brian Tichy.
The last time KISS performed in Australia was in 2013. For Kiwi fans, the rockers will also be visiting New Zealand this year, with the dates will be announced in the coming week.
Here are the venues and dates for their 40th Anniversary tour:
Tickets will be on sale from March 26 at 2 pm from ticketek.com.au. KISS fan club members can purchase presale tickets on March 16 at 2 pm and March 18 at 10 pm.
Meanwhile, reports are claiming that KISS would have played at the AFL Grand Final this year if not for their tour. It has been rumoured that the U.S. music icons will play at the major football event on Oct 3, but with the announcement that they will be kicking off the Australian leg of their tour on the same day in Perth, it would mean that they didn’t take the AFL slot.
But as Sydney Morning Herald has noted, considering the two-hour time difference between the two shows, the rockers could still make it to both.
