I honestly always viewed Peyton as the underdog, personally.
Simply because of the fact that Brooke was the popular cheerleader, who typically always tends to get the guy, as opposed to a character like Peyton's. And especially during times like season 3, when BL were very much in love, and Peyton was just kind of sitting in the background being in love with her best friend's boyfriend... I definitely thought of her as the underdog then.
But ofcourse, it all depends on how you look at it! It hindsight, I can see why people could also think of Brooke as the underdog, since LP are the "meant to be" couple. But during the actual triangle, I always considered the underdog to be Peyton... which is actually a big reason why I rooted for her :)
Hmmmm, I was going to say not sure for pretty much the reasons Kelly stated. My first instinct was to pick Brooke because every show has that "Meant to be Couple" and the "We didn't excpect them, but they happened" type of couple. And LP is the meant to be couple and Brucas is the unexpected couple, and the unexpected couple is usually viewed as the Underdog couple. But in this case, like Kelly said, Brooke is the popular cheerleader that acts like everything is okay when its not, is really insecure, etc etc and those type of characters usually get the guy. Plus, a lot of times Peyton had to kind of sit around and watch Brucas be together, where Brooke really didn't have to do that{maybe in the beggining of season 4, but thats it}So there for Peyton/LP can be viewed as the underdogs also.

I just always felt like Mark favored Peyton/Hilarie, it seemed to me that he loved her character more than any other, so i never quite saw her as the underdog. Plus, put that with all the quotes about LP, like how they designed a world where LP were meant to be together, "It's always gonna be there" etc. etc. - It was hard to view Peyton as an underdog in the triangle.
Of course it's Brooke: no matter how popular she is, LP has been THE couple from day 1 and Mark always made it seem like Lucas was denying his love for Peyton even when he was in an happy relationship with Brooke (grr!) - Brooke was always meant to be a foot note in the kickass epic love story that LP is >.<

Like Kelly said, Brooke is the head cheerleader and usually ends up with the guys..
But you have LP who are the typical "meant to be" couple.
Maybe we would have a different opinions if the triangle was still going on and LP hadn't become endgame yet.
In a way both were the underdogs at one time, but overall? Again, not sure, but I'm leaning more towards Brooke atm...
