Need advice...

Ты can't change people's opinions (or at least, if Ты want to try, be in for the long haul, but I wouldn't recommend it with family), but Ты can change their reactions. If you're comfortable enough, I'd suggest sitting down with your step dad and explaining to him how it bothers Ты when he has that attitude towards something Ты enjoy. Tell him you're not trying to change his views, but that he doesn't have to watch the same shows that Ты do, and Ты would appreciate it if he didn't make any "faces" (if Ты will) when Ты do, или tell him Ты do.

Even though you're family, and care about each other, Ты ARE two different people and are allowed to have differing viewpoints. Tell him that Ты respect his, and all that Ты ask is that he respect yours.

lots of people of an older generation have the same feelings as your step-dad, just talk to him and tell him that the way he reacts to gay people is upsetting for you.

i think that Ты should tell him to respect your opinion and stop making a big deal about something like this EVERY time it comes up. He doesn't have to beleive in gay rights and stuff BUT he should still respect your opinion and stop making faces.
