In the Season Two episode of "LOST" called (2.16) "The Long Con", Jack ransacked Sawyer's tent for some painkillers that the latter had previously taken.In response to Jack's action, Sawyer decided to pull a con job on the castaways, in order to secure control of their guns. When Sawyer finally revealed his con job to the castaways, he сказал(-а) the following:
"That's right, Jack. He's as stupid as Ты are. Ты were so busy worrying about each other Ты never even saw me coming, did you? How about Ты listen up because I'm only going to say this once. Ты took my stuff. While I was off trying to get us help -- get us rescued -- Ты found my stash and Ты took it, divvied it up -- my shaving cream, my batteries, even my beer."
Now, I understood why Sawyer was upset at Jack for going into his tent and taking that bottle of pills. Jack had no business going into his tent without permission. But his rant about the castaways dividing up his stash after he left the island on Michael's рафт, плот in Season One's (1.23-1.24) "Exodus" struck me as infantile.
Sawyer originally had no intention of returning to the island in the first place, when he left on that raft. Why on earth did he expect the other castaways to keep their hands off his belongings, when he had left them behind without any intention of using them again? Had he expect them to erect some kind of shrine in his memory? I mean . . . what the hell?
