Is he using me even just as a friend?

I'm known to give my Друзья gifts around the holidays no matter what holiday. I gave my friend/crush a cute медведь for valentines day. He knew I was going to get him something but he didn't know what. Before I gave it to him he сказал(-а) "is it Конфеты I hope it's candy" and then when I gave him the медведь and a lollipop he tried to give the медведь away to his Друзья right in front of me but he popped the lollipop right in his mouth. My Друзья say he was being a jerk and that he's using me. I know that he was a jerk but I still really like him and I don't know why. Do Ты people thinks he's using me and should I confront him about trying to give it away?
