How do i answer?

Ok so in my tec ed class is one of my really close guy Друзья and today he started Показ me that on his paper it сказал(-а) will Ты go out with me. i asked him if he was asking me out he сказал(-а) no but near the end of class he kept asking me if i would, i kept shrugging my shoulders because idk if i would go out with him!
I'm confused was he was asking me out или was he just fooling around?
