“Malawi has become my секунда home,” Мадонна сказал(-а) Thursday night at a farewell reception organized by members of staff of her Raising Malawi, the charity she set up for her Malawi cause.
“I will be coming here twice every year,” she promised.
Мадонна first visited Malawi in 2006 during which she adopted a Malawian boy, David Banda, now four.
She adopted her секунда Malawian child, daughter Mercy Chifundo James – also now four, in 2009.
Contrary to media speculation, there was no reunion of her adopted children with their natural relations.
Madonna’s private jet left Kamuzu International Airport at 4.30 am Friday, according to airport sources.
During her visit, she laid the first brick, signaling the commencement of her US$15 million Raising Malawi Academy for Girls.
With renowned American economist, Prof. Jeffrey Sachs, and Ericsson CEO Hanz Ves tburg, Мадонна launched ‘Connect to Learn’, an initiative bank-rolled by the global telecommunication giant, to encourage on-line learning for kids in developing countries.
