I was 17 years old, when the 3-Part, Телевидение Mini-Series had released the Outstanding Movie of, "Jesus Of Nazareth," over the 3-Day Observation of Easter. They had to deliver this Very Powerful and Engrossing Film over 3 Consecutive nights, because the whole movie is a little over "SIX HOURS LONG! So they segmented the Film in 2--Hour Increments for 3 Days, starting on "Good Friday," and delivering its emotionally driven, last 2 hours in the early night of Easter Sunday. I, even at a teenage год of 17, was SO Impressed & quite moved by this Movie, I have since make it a Tradition to watch EVERY год at Easter. But because it lacks ANY TIME дана to ANY boredom, the Film is so Remarkable and Engrossing that if Ты think that this 6 час Movie might be "too long," Ты are sadly mistaken! The time just FLIES BY when Ты are watching this Film! It is SO INCREDIBLY GOOD that I have enlisted it as My All Time Избранное Movie. In the past Decade или so, I have now included watching the 6-hour movie over Рождество time too! It is really THAT GREAT! I think that Amazon.com delivers a very well written Review of this Film, which I will Post after this Paragraph. The ending of this movie, however, is so very emotionally packed, and gripping, that Ты will NOT find a dry eye in the house! And IF Ты haven't seen it yet, I Highly Recommend it to EVERYONE OF ALL AGES! Below now is Amazon.com's riveting Review of this Movie. It truly IS a MUST SEE Movie!! Editorial Reviews - Amazon.com ****************************************** Originally made for TV in 1977, this in-depth (six hours plus) version of Jesus' life is so thorough that the first час is devoted solely to the story of his birth. The film doesn't skimp on some of the other landmark events of this famous story either. Director Franco Zeffirelli gives еще than 12 минуты screen time each to the Last ужин and the Crucifixion. Passages of the Bible are quoted verbatim, the locations have a Palestine-like authenticity, and, aside from some of the principals (Robert Powell as Jesus, Olivia Hussey as Mary, and Stacy Keach as Barabbas), many of the non-Roman characters are actually played by Semitic-looking actors. Zeffirelli diligently provides the sociopolitical background that gave rise to Jesus' following and the crisis in belief it caused for the people of Israel (and one или two Romans). While not as graphic by today's standards, some of the scenes--baby boys being ripped from their mothers' arms and slaughtered, nails being driven into Jesus' hands--may disturb young and/or sensitive children. --Kimberly Heinrichs Product Description ************************* Robert Powell, Olivia Hussey, along with Producer/Director Franco Zeffirelli, creates an unforgettable portrait in his legendary interpretation of the Life of Jesus. James Mason, Anthony Quinn and Anne Bancroft are included in this all-star packed cast. 2 DVDs. 1977/color/6 hrs., 22 min / NR / full-screen.
