trailer briefly appeared on IMDb on Tuesday night, but was pulled soon after. A source told EW that the official teaser for Tate Taylor’s adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ best-selling novel will likely be released Wednesday.
is out, featuring Emily Blunt as the frazzled Rachel, who’s caught up in the mystery of her ex-husband’s (Justin Theroux) missing nanny.
What’s creepy is Rachel spied Megan Hipwell (Haley Bennett) before she went missing. What’s creepier is she can’t remember the full night Megan went missing, and now she might be considered a suspect.
“Why are you here?” Rachel is asked by a voice that sounds like Theroux. “Because I’m afraid of myself,” she tearily replies.
Blunt told reporters in Jaunary that the role was “the most challenging thing I’ve ever done.” And director Tate Taylor was candid about the heroine’s state of mind. “You can’t avoid the puns with this movie — she’s a trainwreck,” he told EW last December.
The film is adapted from Paula Hawkins’ debut novel, which was Amazon’s top-selling book of 2015. EW awarded the novel an A-. See the trailer, scored to a slowed version of Kanye West’s “Heartless,” below.
