It took me awhile to think between him & Tom. I have not seen enough of Ewan, Heath, or Sean's roles to make a judgement. It just came to down to Johnny because I've seen a large number of his movies, and he DOES play similar characters in quite a few of them - mostly Burton movies because well..Burton is a copy of himself in every movie anyway - but he is rather good.

On a completely unrelated note, I would say Ben Foster has the most versatile acting skills of any actor I've ever seen.

Well he was very versatile in POTC.

Jack Sparrow, J.M. Barrie, Sweeney Todd, Ichabod Crane, Willy Wonka, Mad Hatter, etc - all completely different roles but he acts them out brilliantly.

It was between him and Johnny Depp, but I have to say that from I have seen Heath Ledger can play the most sweet naive characters to the most evil and cynical fiends! I most enjoyed his performance in The Dark Knight.

Tom is a good actor. I also like Johnny.

Well, I think Johnny has only 2 kind of characters... one creepy or scared for comedy, and the other one really dark for drama.

And Tom Hanks

Without a doubt! Johnny can succeed at every role that's placed in front of him. Even if I hate whatever the movie may be, his character is always amazing.
