I have very VERY strong views, not only about this situation, but the whole "emo" thing in general, but I won't bore you with them.

I will say that it is bad enough that My Chemical Romance is being accused as being "emo", but the fact that Green Day (and the other bands mentioned, but I am a HARD-CORE GREEN DAY FAN, so this really pisses me off!) are included as an "emo" band. That is absolutely infuriating...

You're probably gonna hunt me down for this, but I'd classify MCR's earlier stuff (pre-Black Parade) as kinda emo - before emo became too extreme. By the time everyone was catching onto it, they were moving on. But Green Day? Emo? Ha.

This is a pretty sucktastic situation - but hey, everyone has to have a scapegoat, right? 'Cause who really wants to take responsibility for something like this... so lets just blame the music the suicidal kids are listening to. Problem solved. *rolls eyes*

But you are right about the scrapegoat thing. The thing that annoys me is that people who don't listen to MCR also kill themselves, but no one ever mentions what is in their cd collection (unless of course its Marilyn Manson etc).

I Think That The Papers Who Printed All Of The *Articles* About Mcr Leading Hannah Bond To Suicide Etc Need To Step Back And Take A Look At All The Facts Before Jumping To Conclusions About Rumours Spread About The Whole ''Emo'' Scene. If They Think That Music Is Enough To Drive Someone To Kill Themself, They Really Need To Realise The ACTUAL Problems In The World, Such As Bullying, Family Life Etc That Could Have Really Affected Her. Before She Committed Suicide She Said To Her Parents ''I Feel Like Killing Myself'' And As They Didn't Respond To This, They Must Feel Terribly Guilty, But Thats No Reason To Put All The Blame On A Band Who Have Clearly 'Saved Many People's Lives'. I Feel Sorry For MCR x x x
