Does anyone know what the moral of My Neighbor Totoro was?

I think the moral is to believe in what Ты like and it may come true... But, believe in yourself, and Ты can do anything Ты put your mind to.

So the real morale of the story is respect- Nature, the elderly, strangers, family, and for one's self. This is shown all throughout the movie. When Ты respect people, they will treat Ты well & will comfort Ты when you're down. Even if Ты don't want to like someone, Ты should still be kind. And finally, when Ты treat nature with respect, it will respect Ты back.
