It's not really important to the story. We don't need to see flashbacks of EVERYTHING on this show.

I think it would be interesting. The trauma Rumpel had when she broke his heart is part of why he is the man he is today..

as we saw Regina's unhappy love story I think it would make sense to see Rumpel's unhappy love story too.
