Nope, nope, nope lol. Season 1 is a big part of why I dislike BL. Yes, they were cute at times during this season. But I really didn't like the way that they got together. And they also had their shallow moments, that really don't show them (or any relationship for that matter) in a flattering light.

I love Brucas but I don't love this season for them- it's ok...there are just much better seasons for them {2, 3 & 5}

BL had no business even getting together in that season. i never understood why brooke would even put herself in that situation with lucas, when she obviously knew that feelings were involved between LP. she jumped into a relationship with him, when she knew that LP had unfinished business and unresolved feelings between them. she had to have known it would come back to bite her in the ass, she was basically asking to get hurt. doesn't make sense to me.

and i don't want to hear any crap about this. it's MY opinion, and i have every right to voice it. i'm so sick of being attacked every time heaven forbid i say something negative about BL.

I don't rewatch season 1 as often as I rewatch the other seasons because I am not a fan of all the love triangle drama. But recently I decided to rewatch it--- and now I totally remember why I became a BL fan in the first season. I definitely love Brucas more in seasons 2 and 3...maybe even season 5... I'm not sure about that one. But I think they are adorable in the first season.
It felt like we got to see Brooke through Lucas's eyes in the first season... we saw her as this desperate party girl and then as Lucas realizes how incredible and caring she actually is- so do we as an audience. We fall for Brooke at the same time as Lucas does. There's something so special about getting to really feel what the character is feeling because we are experiencing it at the same time. I think Lucas was the first person, and maybe even the only person on the show, to REALLY understand Brooke and to see deep into her soul. A big part of why I love Brucas in the first season is because of Lucas... how we saw Brooke through Lucas's eyes and we got to see what a brilliant, brave, and beautiful girl she is. Plus I don't think I have ever seen Lucas smile as much as he did when he was in a relationship with Brooke in the first season. It's adorable when Brooke drives up to the rivercourt and Lucas looks so happy to see her or when she stops him in the hallways at school and he looks so happy when he says "hey Brooke". It's those small things that make me smile because they are just so frickin adorable. I'm not saying they had an earth shattering love affair in the first season... I'm saying they had an adorable first love relationship in which you discover who you are at the same time as you're discovering who the other person is and you get to experience all these exciting and new events together. Yes high school love is full of drama and pain... but it's also full of excitement and fun and gushing over the fact that you're really falling for the other person. And that's exactly what I felt season 1 Brucas was like.

I can understand people who don't like Brucas in the first season because they love Leyton... but I have a harder time understanding why people wouldn't like Brucas in that season when they say it has nothing to do with Leyton. But everyone has different taste-- and if we didn't we would have had a pretty lame love triangle if all the fans were rooting for the same couple.

Now don't get me wrong... I think he had deeper feelings for Peyton in the first season. I'm not denying that. But part of the fun for me in rewatching season 1 is knowing exactly how Lucas will regret cheating on Brooke and will spend all of season 2 trying to earn back her trust. It's probably similar to how I would imagine Leyton fans feel watching season 5... knowing that even though Lucas was hurting Peyton at the time- they would get together in the next season.

4 or 5. They seem just wrong in season 1. In fact I prefer them when they weren't an official couple (season 2) or just friends (season 5-6).
At least in season 2/3 Lucas had real feeling for her, in season 1 they got together just for fun in my opinion...

Their relationship was too shallow and meaningless.. I know it was good for Brooke to see that someone could actually treat her right but Lucas should not have been that person. Brooke should have never gone after Lucas when she knew Lucas and Peyton had feelings for each other and Lucas should have never gotten together with Brooke, when he really wanted to be with Peyton. Like Lucas said he was just hiding with Brooke because he was afraid of getting hurt again. It was just WRONG on every level.

Shallow? Meaningless? God, it's like many of you think there are only 2 kinds of relationships: marriage and epic/love-at-first-sight relationships. Well, yeah Brucas could've gotten married right away, just like Naley, and we never would've had all these fights about Leyton and Brucas...but seriously?! What's wrong with a relationship that's "just for fun"? In fact it's a lot more entertaining than a couple permanently babbling about how much they love each other.
Plus, we all know Brooke was like one of the most superficial characters early in season 1 ( : Of course there had to be someone who's helping her become a better person, who's entirely different than all the other guys she's ever been with in her life. They really brought out the best in each other, even in their most "shallow" season. And I think that's such a beautiful process to watch!

Agree with Lisiii so much on this. They may not have been epic meant to be love at first sight in season 1 but they were fun cute and entertaining to watch most of the time. Only about a 7 out of 10 though for me cause season 2/3 was a million times better :)

I'm not gonna argue with you TBSAC, but that is exactly what I have tried to explain a million freaking times. Things would be so much more civil between you & BL fans if you could ever just be respectful towards us. You have every right to dislike BL, but you're just SO freaking harsh. EVERY.SINGLE.TIME!

All we're asking is that you not take it to such extremes all the time. You've got to admit, I DON'T go around bashing the hell out of LP the way you do with BL. Hell, for the most part the only negative things I say about LP are my general opinion on them. I'm honest about how I feel about the cheating, and I'm honest about how I feel towards ways Peyton acted in S3/S4. But I don't overdo it. I DON'T trash the hell out of Peyton/Leyton every single chance I get.

I'm honestly just trying to end some of this pointless drama! Aren't you tired of it? I know I am. So all I'm trying to point out is that I really think we could ALL get along better if people just toned it down sometimes.
