If Cilan had a bad experience with Purrloin in his past it's no wonder he's so horrified whenever he sees one. Iris has stated before that she doesn't like the cold, and since Dragon types are weak against Ice types, her fear makes sense to me. I can relate to Misty's fear of Bug types because, while I may not be afraid of Bug types, I am afraid of bugs in real life, mainly bees, mosquitoes, and flies.

How can you be scared of something with an adorable face. Look at the Caterpie. LOOK AT IT

^ It's not just Caterpie though, she's afraid of ALL Bug types, but yeah I see what you're saying. I like most Bug types. I'm not particularly fond of Beedrill because they're very aggressive, and as I mentioned above, I'm afraid of bees in real life. I also don't like Whrilopede all that much. Venipede and Scolipede are cool, but Whirlopede looks like a giant wheel with an eye, that's a little creepy.

I don't like insulting anyone's fears. Even if I may not be afraid of something, if it makes sense to them, then I won't judge. I don't like people judging my own fears and calling them absurd, so why should I do it to another's?

I still can't understand why Cilan has a fear of Purrloin. I am so curious about this that this has given me an idea for a story.

^ In the episode "Cilan and the Case of the Purrloin Witness" he explained to Ash and Iris why he's so afraid of Purrloin, but it wasn't revealed to the viewers, which I was kind of disappointed about. I want to know what happened to him that made him so terrified of Purrloin.

If you're wondering why Dawn's not included it's because in the episode "Playing the Performance Encore" she got over her fear of Plusle and Minun.

I am really glad that they gave Cilan a phobia though because it was getting really dumb how females were the only characters that had incurable phobias. Give a little humanism to the male characters for crying out loud. *favorite one-time character is the Nurse Joy from EP206 The Joy Of Water Pokemon

Sorry It's Misty. She gave no true reason towards a fear of bugs. Hating them, Yes, but having a fear oh them, No. And there is a difference between fear and hate (Fear is where your scared of them, while hate is just no liking it. Iris & Cilan gave a reason. Misty didn't give a good one. Just saying they are disgusting? Does it mean you need to fear them cause their slimy? What bout Muk? xD

Also, Iris is kind of overcoming her fear. Not completely, but it's a start
