It was also prooven in one episode the humans eat pokemon. It was the episode where Ash, Brock, and Misty were on the S.S. Anne an Team Rocket showed up. James got tricked into buying a magikarp. Then the ship sinks and they are all stranded with only the magikarp. Then they all want to eat it, but James wont let them

Also,when Delia asked Ash for what to take in lunch,he told he would take 'Squirtle Eggs' 0_o
That was when Ash returned home after the Hoenn Journeys.
That means,they do eat PokÉmon !!!

I have to add, Pokemon are thier animals.. so that makes sence. But at the same time deep fried Pikachu just seems so.. WTF?!; xD
