I heard that there is a kiss/almost Kiss controversy.... can someone explain why? Why is there a controversy about it? It's just a kiss!!

Well, I read the book a long time ago, but I do remember there was no Kiss between Darcy and Elizabeth. So it would have been strange if they had kissed in the 205 movie, wouldn't it? Because it clearly wasn't in the book.
Another reason: I believe it was really inappropriate to Kiss before the wedding. Ты know, it was a different time, and so I think it would have made a big controversy IF it had happened. Fortunately, it did not, and they were smart enough not to do so.
The whole almost Kiss was brilliant if Ты ask me, because it really showed the tension, and the wanting, and all the emotions that were building up…
It was a bold choice that could have made the movie less believable but as Ты can see, it was after all a big hit, and, of course, with a good reason.

Yah I get what Ты mean,I have read the book as well and no, I dont remember a Kiss either..lol.. But I understand the controversy that some people felt about the almost Kiss in the proposal scene, but I LOVED it:D I mean when Ты read the whole argument they have after Lizzie refuses him, the intensity and the rawness in those pages are so tangible! ..lol..And I while I would have liked it to have been done as it was in the book-that would have been wonderful!-It made perfect sense to me that they would have a few moments of what was in those pages, but turned into an almost Kiss that captured what was not being сказал(-а) while still staying true to the characters and story:)

lol,yes it would have been just a kiss,but that would taken away from it...I mean not completely ruined it but Ты know what I mean?That wouldnt have happened,I dont think,in those times.

I really thought that the director& screen-writer and everyone else really did a fantastic job in carrying over what was in the book into the movie I mean, its truly a magnificent adaptation and film:)....
