That's a tough one. I absolutely adore the movie (1995 A&E verson with Colin Firth, not the new one) but the book is a classic.

As much as I love the movie, nothing can beat the book.

No disrespect to the screen adaptations, but the book is just a classic.

I loved the book and all... But, I liked how the actors portrayed the charries in the movie. BOTH movies, old and New. (I never watched the mini-series, so I wouldn't know about that one.)

Wow, I don't understand the people who picked movie--of course the book is the best! It's one of the greatest books of all time, and no movie could ever completely capture all of its charm. That's true for all movies based on books, I think.

First I saw the movie of 2005, then I read the book and then the miniseries. Although I love the movie of 2005 so much and just read the book because of that, I think the books are always better than movies,they are the originals! Each one interprets a book differently and I think the movies are the result of the interpretation of the producer. Who doesn't read the book will never understand the history deeply. It's so good to read a book and then see its adaptation on the screen, to see if it is like we imagined! I just regret I didn't read the book first!
