If a крокодил steals a child and promises its return if the father can correctly guess what the крокодил will do, how should the крокодил respond in the case that the father guesses that the child will not be returned?

I belive the father will ask were he hid the child. Parnents do not normaly give up hope that there child is alive and health onless proven other wise. If the father сказал(-а) that his child was dead the крокодил may eat the father and the child.
