Why hasn't anyone tried to end Selective Services?

I've been talking with my stepdad about Selective Services and how it's targetted at young men ready to go to college, and after Чтение misogynists' Комментарии on some websites about how feminists don't want women to be put on Selective Services, and it truly dawned on me that no one wants and shouldn't be forced to sign up for future drafting to gain college financial aid. So why haven't anyone tried to stop this nonsense, yet? Also, is it just the U.S. doing this или are there other countries?
