Well, to be very blunt, totally. Im not saying you're a stupid person, its just that that kind of thing is common online talk(?) essentially like emoticons.

no ur not stupid, i was kinda stupid before like i didn't find out american idol existed until season 10, BUT i wasn't allowed much tv till a год или 2 ago, and my Друзья didn't really talk about tv very much. and i still skipped a grade not knowing ai existed. so yeah you're not stupid.

No for the longest time I didn't know either so i looked it up.

it does mean a heart. Like if Ты put it as ur Facebook status it will turn into and actuall heart. But ur not dumb its just a common error about online faces and symbols. Dont worry ur not the only one who makes those mistakes:)
