Is anyone here good with Algebra 1?

cause i need help on it badly
my whole assignment is about linear functions

i don't understand this:

The Standard Form equation of a line has the following formula: Ax + By = C where A ≠0 and B ≠0

for an example of the problems i need to do is:

2x=y/3-4

it says to write the equation in standard form and give the values of A,B,and C

i just don't understand these. 2 Благодарности will be дана if Ты can help this confused blonde out.

Don't Ты mean Ax + By + C = 0

Ты just have to manipulate it so that its form matches Ax + By = C.

So if Ты have

2x=y/3-4

all Ты have to do is subtract y/3 to both sides to Переместить it over. Then Ты get

2x - y/3 = -4

where A = 2, B = -1/3, and C = -4

i dont understand why x and y are on the same side of the equals sign

Just because that's what standard form is. In Ax+By=C x and y are on the same side so Ты have to get the дана homework equation into the same form.

I don't know this and I'm in Algebra 2. But at my school we HAVE to "figure it out on our own".

Okay, so basically:

2x=y/3-4

2x=y/-1

Add the "C", или -1, to the other side, so now it is positive

2x+1=y

Now Ты subtract 2x onto the other side, so now it is negative

1=y-2x

1 is the C

y is the By (B is 0)

-2x is the Ax

Final: -2x+y=1
