I need some Совет

I am moving into college in less than a month, and I am really nervous. Anyone can give Совет really, but please if Ты have been through this, или are already there it would really help me a lot.

Hi I just finished my freshman год and I'm going to be a sophomore!!!

Совет - talk to everyone and go to the orientation events. The first friend I made is now my best friend and we met through orientation. Don't be afraid to talk to people - no one else really has any idea what's going on either and even the cool kids are dweebs deep down.

At the same time, choose Друзья carefully. It's different if you're going to a huge state school или something but my school is on the smaller side and friend groups got cemented within the first few weeks. So don't hang with people Ты don't like and introduce yourself to people Ты find interesting even if you're terrified. Be Друзья with your roommate but don't cling to them - having all the same Друзья as your roomie just creates drama. Befriend your roomie but maintain boundaries!

Присоединиться клубы is also cliche Совет but I met a lot of cool people through them! And go to parties, say yes to hanging out, be social in the beginning even if it isn't normally your thing. It makes your first год experience so much better.

Also as far as classes make sure Ты plan your schedule so Ты have time to eat and time between. Don't overbook yourself. Don't be afraid to ask for help from professors - they Любовь what they do and they're super intelligent and they wanna help! Tutoring is also always available and yeah it can be stigmatized but if Ты need it get it.

Get all your Книги as early as possible. Find them used to save money, или ask upperclassman if they'll sell their old Книги to you. (This also works for appliances btw. A lot of older students sell stuff at the beginning of the год - keep an eye out!)

Get there as early as possible to Переместить in. Ты get to choose which side of the room Ты want and Ты don't have to deal with moving in and meeting people at the same time; it's a lot еще relaxing to already have all your stuff in your room before Ты go out and do stuff!

Also, Ты probably don't have enough hangers and storage space. Make sure all your stuff has a home! And bring lots of comfort Еда and your Избранное things from home. Bring Advil and cough drops and hand sanitizer (flu season in dorms is HELL and Ты WILL get sick several times). Ты will also need lots of paper towels. And duct tape. Duct tape fixing everything.

Idk what else to say, man, but everyone makes Друзья at college and once Ты do it's the time of your life, but Ты gotta make yourself into the person Ты wanna be. First год is a fresh start - take advantage of that.

If Ты have any Вопросы Ты can ask me, but can I ask what school you're going to? Ты don't have to say if you're not comfortable with that but I'm from Pennsylvania and I'm p familiar with a lot of the schools there. ^^

Most of this advise is what I was going to tell you. To add - be careful if Ты have to go out at night - make sure Ты go with friends. Also, remember to take plenty of change with Ты for washer / dryer / vending machines etc.

^ true and on вверх of that first one, always look out for your fellow girls when Ты go out! Only drink things you've seen opened in front of you. If a girl looks uncomfortable with a guy get her out of there even if Ты don't know her. Don't let your drunk Друзья do anything they wouldn't do sober. Always drink water after alcohol. ^^

Moving out is hard, but what my sister did before she left for college was she made sure to meet up with her roommates well ahead of time, so she had someone she could cling to if things got tough.
