Why do people tan?

There's nothing wrong with white skin and sure, the risk of skin cancer always exists within those rays. Still, those doesn't have to do much with why this happens. At least from my point of view.

As a person who has tanned, I could say it's out of aesthetic. A personal preference. No different from someone applying make-up или dying their hair even though they might still look great in their natural color. Some experiment with themselves. Others just feel like it more. Depending on the person, they could draw еще attention to themselves this way. In overall, it can make them feel better. A natural tan will go away after a short amount of time so it's not like someone made a permanent choice with no way back that they'll come to regret. In the end, it's all about one's style, I believe.

That being said, there are also those who didn't have any choice in the matter. For many people, the nature of their jobs for example makes contact with the Sun's rays unavoidable. Something that can last for an extended period of time hence they get their own tans albeit unvoluntarily. Honestly, try to come in my Country for the Summer and I can guarantee Ты that you'll leave with a certain amount of tan UNLESS Ты hole up yourself in some close Космос for the whole duration of it или wear multiple layers of heavy clothing LOL !!!!

Some people just like exotic tanned skin like most of non Caucasian peoples are.

It may be because some people enjoy the warmth of the summer sun. или because some may want a nicer-looking body, either for themselves или to look еще attractive to others. I use to get into tanning a few years back, but now I don't really care. I don't mind pale skin, as long as it's not sickly pale to the point where it causes health issues.

I dont think it REALLY has much to do with them not liking white skin as much as it is their personal preference, hobby, etc.

Personally I dont see it as much of a big deal cause I dont really see people getting rude или cruel over people that dont nor do I see people trying to force people to tan so... *shrugs* Who am I to judge what they do for fun?

PERSONALLY, I Любовь pale skin and my usual pale complexion. I mean I loose it during heavy marching seasons cause those take place between summer and fall so the sun is harsh and we are out a lot so I naturally tan AND burn, but I usually actually try to keep my skin color еще pale - probably for the same reason as those that like to tan. They probably find it еще of a suiting look for them and its something they like on themselves

Plus I imagine it must be pretty nice and relaxing to just sunbathe. I dont really know how to relax that well and feel comfortable with it but if I could slow myself down and didnt like being еще pale, then Id honestly consider it. The sun feels nice when the weather is good and just sitting или laying in the sun could be pretty relaxing I think

This is what I’ve heard. I can’t speak on its accuracy but it makes sense to me — It started as a sign of wealth/luxury for white people (around the industrial age I think?) - if Ты were tan, it meant Ты could afford to take vacations rather than be inside working all day. Before this, pale skin was desirable for the exact same reason. If Ты were tan, it meant Ты were outside working but if Ты were pale it was a sign Ты were wealthy enough to lounge around indoors.

Ты know what? I don't know. I've never thought about it. I'm pretty sure еще than just white people tan and can get skin cancer.

There are people who are insecure about their looks and there are people who like to change theirselves just because they want change или like their new selves better. It depends on the person why they want tan skin

A little bit of tanning helps to keep the skin healthier. But too much tanning will do the opposite. The ones who tan excessively are either addicted to it или just can`t get any tan when doing it moderately and want to become darker, I guess.

im еще pale, so i never get tanned. I get еще sunburn.
My sister, on the other hand, is darker, so she always gets tanned. She never gets sunburn tho.

HONESTLY ITS ALL A PART OF THE SYSTEM TO PROFIT OFF OF POC WHILE DENYING ANY PROBLEMS OF WHAT THEY SUFFERED DUE TO THEM

- Naturally tan just by being outside without trying.

- Ephasises muscles, desirable for fitness community

- Vitamin D

- For entertainment (dancing/stage) The lights are very bright and will wash Ты out, so tanning is common in dancesport for white lights to not wash them out.

- Personal aesthetic preferences

Nothing is wrong with white skin. I like my pale skin. But as I wear lighter clothing in summer I gradually tan over the weeks.

You're only risking skin cancer if you're being careless with sun exposure. Wear sufficient sunscreen and Ты shouldn't burn, but will gently tan over time. That's just natural.

As for tanning beds, I wouldn't do that but if people choose to do such things for aesthetic purposes then that is their choice, that doesn't bother me.

Can't speak for everyone but o tan because I'm simply outside a lot. It happens naturally in the summer because I simply like being outside and at the пляж, пляжный and stuff. And 9/10 I'm too lazy to apply sunscreen.
