Shadow is cool. Cool is having either jet shoes или SOAP shoes. He chose jet shoes. Shadow is the Ultimate Life form and he is the best Sonic character by far.
Shadow is a robot, therefore his jet-shoes are actually built into him. So even if he WANTED too, he couldn't take his shoes off. Hope this Ответы your question. =)

shadow is not a robot, he is a mobian mostly created by chaos energy and the blood sample from Black Doom. and he can take his shoes off.
Shadow needs his jet shoes because when he was training back on the ARK, he couldn't run properly so Prof. Gerald made him the rocket shoes so he could "glide" across the ground. he is, after all, Black Doom's "artificial son".
